Flawed firmware

Firmware is flawed, laptop has very high battery discharge rate in sleep mode and high discharge rate while it is turned off. Great purchase if you want a desktop with decent keyboard and OKayish screen. If you move fast enough and don't forget to connect to power you can even move it around the house.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great machine that we got for our fabrication engineer. We are in the process of moving our whole team to Lenovos and going with T14s or X1s. The 14" is a great size and is not bulky. These machines provide superior quality and port quantity to Macs.

Best laptop I've ever owned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very happy with the quality of this product. The eight core processor is very snappy and efficient, and the integrated graphics are actually impressive--especially compared to Intel's offerings.
I was pleasantly surprised that there was zero bloatware on the device. This is the first laptop I've owned where I didn't feel the need to do a reformat/reinstall of Windows. There was one application from Lenovo, and it actually has utility.
Suggestions for potential buyers:
- Buy the smallest SSD and replace it yourself with an aftermarket one (heck of a lot cheaper)
- Make sure you get the 16 GB soldered RAM option (I upgraded the empty slot with aftermarket RAM, again, cheaper)
- The screen upgrades are worth it. I didn't get the touchscreen, but the 400 nit brightness FHD screen is gorgeous
- Pick up the fingerprint reader, it's worth the meager price and offers great functionality
- I'd recommend the eight core processor; the integrated graphics have a little more power than the six
Overall, I couldn't be happier with this laptop.

Excellent laptop, missing clear Ubuntu support

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The laptop itself is very compelling and satisfying, with very good keyboard and 400-nits wide color gamut display. I like the size
I do wish for less monstrous cpu options like the AMD Ryzen 4450U instead of 4650U. Less heat, lower power consumption

Worth the Wait

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lenovo Thinkpad T14 (AMD) took quite a while to get here with the pandemic and the semiconductor shortage going on (~7months to my doorstep), but I was alright with waiting as I wasn't in need of a laptop immediately, and I had my eyes locked on this device since this would be my first Lenovo Thinkpad laptop.
After receiving it, I quickly installed Linux (Fedora) and began the setup process - extremely easy and everything worked out the box. The thermals are good so far - fan starts to run when watching 1080p videos and up. I don't play any video games on this machine as to why I didn't opt for an Intel model with an NVidia graphics card.
I have not done any extreme testing on this device, but general internet browsing, email checking, coding/compiling, and some basic photo editing checks all the boxes on performance.
In regards to the hardware, I got the 400nit screen which is definitely bright enough for my eyes. As for the speakers, they are not the best. They can be loud depending on the video, but more often you could be 1m~1.5m away before not being able to perfectly hear the audio on full blast. As for the camera, again, not the best. It's 720p, but the overall image quality is awful in my opinion. It will do the job and show a picture/frame, but the lighting is poorly handled where shadows are extremely dark, and the sharpness of the video is extremely low.
Although, I don't often use the speakers/camera very often, so this is less impactful for me as a daily user. Overall, it's a great laptop for the price and the performance.

Fast PC with a lot of ports

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best laptop I’ve used by far. I use it for IT work dual booting Windows and Linux. The Ryzen 7 is fast and have no complaints being my first AMD PC in about 11 years. It has a lot of ports which is the opposite of my surface!
