[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the Gen 1 X1 Carbon back in 2013 and have finally upgraded to the Gen 8 X1 Carbon. Everything is so familiar yet it is so much of an upgrade! This really is the ultimate laptop- the portability is tremendous and feels like so little sacrifice is made in performance.

Nothing I would change or alter from my new Think Pad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's been a couple months since purchasing this laptop, and so far everything seem to be working as it should. Overall, I feel like I made a good purchase.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far the computer seems fine. My previous computer was an old HP laptop (hand me down from my daughter who got a Mac three years ago), where the integrated keyboard was busted and I could not power it off because it might not power up again. Also, in my last job at DELL they gave me for work a laptop that just barely held one copy of the project I was working on. But before that I had a Lenovo ThinkPad at work which I liked. With my new computer I bought the 4 years warranty so I don't have to worry too much about it breaking. I bought the ThinkPad because I want something sturdy, not light weight and cute (e.g., touch screen would have been a negative feature for me; I like old-style "command line" programs -- I'm an old-timer, started on punch cards in 1972).
