hate to say it - the Duo-Temp Pro edges above the Bambino

The Bambino Plus and Duo-Temp Pro are priced the same. The Bambino has auto micro-foaming which is nice, but after that, the Duo-Temp excels.
With the Duo-Temp, you get hotter, more flavorful coffee; which is most important.
I have had a Duo-Temp for 4 years, hard water and time have impacted performance a bit, so I purchased a new Bambino Plus. In general, it makes good coffee, but my wife and I liked the older Duo-Temp results better. After a good cleaning, I had several friends over before golf and a taste test broke out.
Everyone agreed that the Duo-Temp made overall better-tasting coffee. Two did like the micro-foam results of the Bambino, but that did not make the resulting coffee better than that from the Duo-Temp. (yes, we did play with the temperature of the foam and coffee on the Bambino)
If you are often in a rush, go Bambino. It makes good coffee.
If you are retired or casual and want better-tasting coffee, go Duo-Temp.
other minor things...
- the water reservoir is easier to reach on the Duo-Temp
- the overflow tray is larger on the Duo-Temp
- the Portafilter seems nicer on my Duo-Temp
- the magnet storage of the tamper is nice on the Duo-Temp
- the Bambino is faster
- the Bambino foaming head is nice
- the Bambino is bit smaller
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Totally changed my life!!!!

OK. So maybe my title is slightly hyperbolic. But I live in rural Southwest Georgia. I have to drive an hour just to go grocery shopping, let alone find a cafe. I am also one of those people who need to drink their coffee before they can make their coffee. And I am a dedicated Luddite. But my Bambino plus is so easy to use even I can use it in the morning to make that first jolt. I loved it so much I bought a second one for my girlfriend's house where I spend most weekends. Her adult son and his girlfriend also love it! And customer service was amazingly helpful when I had a problem. I never thought I would have a video conference with a coffee maker.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Horrible sensors

Got the machine for 2 months and the lights keep alerting that steam wand is blocked and stop steaming before the and of the cycle even after cleaning steam head, purging and cleaning the whole group head.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Headed for the trash

I bought this after researching the best for the price. A few months after purchasing, the espresso would produce only a few drops. I tried everything. I descaled, cleaned, tried various grind sizes. Nothing worked, so we went back to our Nespresso maker and just used the foaming wand, which worked well, until a few months later. Again, I tried everything the manual says and NOTHING works. It just stops foaming and the lights flash and I have to purge the system again. How does this have good reviews? It is headed for the trash, sadly.

Great Espresso Machine

My wife and I bought the Bambino Plus a little over a month ago. We considered all the Breville machines up to and including the Touch model. We finally decided that with just two coffee drinkers in the house, the Bambino Plus offered everything we needed. The straightforward ease of operation, ThermoJet heating and good sized water tank were big advantages. The auto MilQ steam wand feature is the best! We coupled the espresso machine with the Breville Smart Grinder Pro and are now able to make excellent lattes, cappuccinos and Americanos right at home. If you are looking for a compact espresso machine with top-notch build quality and function, the Bambino Plus is it.

Auto Steam failing

I purchased Bambino Plus and Breville grinder in November 2023. I was quite satisfied initially with both items, quality, and functionality. After 6 months of daily use making 2 double espresso lattes every morning and diligently doing daily purges and scheduled cleanings and descaling, the auto steam function on the Bambino Plus has failed. I was on the phone with Breville rep 2 days ago and she was very nice and we did a factory reset and tried steaming milk using auto cycle and it worked. However, it only worked the one time and now its back to starting cycle, hesitating mid cycle, stopping, restarting and then purging into steam cup until I shut machine off. After all that, the steamed milk is not hot or steamed to correct foam level. I've tried everything, even manual steaming to no avail. The machine worked great for 6 months. One nit is the cleaning cycle has no warning and twice now the machine has allowed me to pull espresso shot only to call for cleaning cycle prior to steaming milk. There should be a counter built in that tells the user "cleaning cycle to start after x more uses"...
I have a feeling this machine has either heat sensor issue or some other defect that only appears after a few months of use. While I'm not ok with most products nowadays being designed to be obsolete after a few short years, obsolete after 6 months is unacceptable. If it lasted for 3 years without any issues and then died, I could accept that. I have a feeling I'm going to be on the phone a lot this week trying to resolve this issue.

Poor choice

I had a Breville Infuser for six years. It was a very good espresso machine. I bought the Breville Bambino Plus due to reviews. It is disappointing. Even the manual is misleading, for example in its explanation of how to clear the machine. If you do not follow the cleaning schedule determined by the machine, you cannot use it make espresso. The quality of espresso is average at best. And no matter how many times one returns the Bambino Plus to Breville's settings, it still produces shots of espresso of varying size. Sorry I bought this machine.

Enraging machine

I thought this was the solution to my problems until it wasn't. It has been stuck in descale mode for two days rendering the machine ABSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. It will not fix itself, it will not default back to original settings. It is a paper weight.
Not to mention the drip tray leaks every single time it's used. I have never wanted to throw a device against a wall harder. Do not buy this.
