Bought this as a birthday gift for my wife. It was the perfect gift for her as I get to make her an espresso every morning now. It keeps on giving. Next week I will master the milk frothing.
Really Like a lot about this machine, but also dislike some significant issues

Bought this to replace my old, larger Breville espresso infuser that finally died after maybe 10 years. I liked the old machine, but decided to give this Bambino Plus a try since a smaller footprint is nice on my limited counterspace. There ae a lot of things I love about this machine, but some key items are problematic and I'm not sure if I'd buy it again.
Pros: Smaller footprint (very compact!) frees up counter space. There is slightly more space between the bottom of the portafilter and the top of the drip tray, which allows me to fit my taller coffee mugs. This allows me to brew directly into a larger mug with room for milk, and not have to brew into a smaller mug and transfer like my old machine. The convenience of the auto milk frothing while I'm running around multitasking in the morning is fantastic, and the machine is much more quiet than I expected.
Cons: The biggest is that there is no water filter available for this machine, and it is apparently very sensitive to hard water. My water is what I'd call medium-hard - I don't have a need for a whole house water softener, but I do have filters on my shower heads which tend to get their tiny little spray holes clogged. The European version of this machine has a water filter, why not this one? I spent a ton of time with Breville support trying to figure out why my machine quickly stopped brewing, and apparently I need to descale every 2 or 3 weeks otherwise it just clogs up. And the machine doesn't realize it is getting clogged I guess because the descale warning seems to be set to # of uses vsl level of scale. Never had an issue with my old Breville, but that one had a water filter. The other cons are more minor - the drip tray is ridiculously small, and there is no override for the backflush requirement like there is for the descale requirement (irritating when you're trying to make a couple of cups of coffee in the morning and you have to stop after the first one and backflush).
Overall, I do like the machine, the the cons cause me so much frustration that when this one dies I'll probably look at a different one. I'm guessing that will be a while though, considering my last Breville lasted almost 10 years!

I bought the Bambino Plus for my husband's birthday. It is our first espresso machine. He was a bit perplexed at first but after watching several YouTube videos, he has turned into quite the barista. I am extremely happy with the bambino plus, especially that it can be programmed and dialed into the coffees we like to use. I originally bought it for it's size as we have limited counter space.
I bought the Bambino to replace my previous machine from another brand that was not giving me consistent results. The Bambino arrived and after a few adjustments on the size of the grind, it has been great. I need to grind the beans a little coarser than originally thought, but the coffee is delicious and has been one of the smoothest cups of coffee in a long time. The milk steamer is also great. I have tried the automatic setting and it works great, place the jug of milk under the steamer and on the sensor, push go, and it steams a perfect pot of milk. I will keep experimenting with the grind to see if I can get the coffee even better!
It's about a month old and I have zeroed in on the grind, best basket, and warm up tips to make a terrific espresso. Since this machine is instant heat it's best to warm it up by running water through it. BTW it's in the setup guide. Foaming milk is simple, though for me it makes a bit too much. The resulting milk is frothy and warm. The only challenge, and I read it in other reviews, is the difficulty removing the puck from the machine. I'm hoping it will loosen in another month. Overall very happy
Cool features but makes a tiny amount of espresso per shot!

I like my Bambino Plus and have figured out how to bend its will to mine. I like a large latte with several shots of espresso and in order to get the quantity I want, I have to run the machine twice, after having customized the brew time to the longest allowable time. Other than that, the nearly instantaneous heat-up time and automatic milk frothing features are great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your review. It sounds like your grinds may be too fine/dense to allow liquid to be pressed through. The first drips should come out anywhere between 8-12 seconds after you push the shot button, no matter if it's for a single or double shot. Once the streams begin to come out, they should be even, and have the consistency of warm honey. If you continue to get drips, then your grind is too fine. If you get watery streams that look like drip coffee or tea, your grind is too coarse.
