This is a game changer of our life! Since we bought, it’s been our part of life and we stop going coffee shops and come home straight crabbing our coffee at home. Thanks, Breville!
For the price point I was expecting a better quality machine. It is unclear how to get the perfect beverage. It really should have a better way to tell when it needs descaling or cleaning. The nice thing is the size but I definitely think I could have a better machine
I did a lot of research trying to find a espresso machine that did not break the bank. I watched many different consumer reviews on YouTube and decided that the Breville Bambino Plus was a highly rated small espresso maker. I have been using this machine for a month now and here are my findings: 1. Great price point 2. Very small footprint. I can leave it on our kitchen counter and it looks great. 3. Very simple to operate and it makes very good espresso and coffee beverages. 4. Relatively quiet and heats up in 3 seconds. 5. One of the best features is it’s milk frother . Using the supplied stainless pitcher, you just slide it on to the temperature sensor and press the steam button and it basically makes excellent foam. Good texture and temperature, in 20-30 seconds. The milk wand has a self cleaning feature that is great. I had used a Starbucks Espresso maker for over 15 years and while it made a decent espresso, it took a lot of work to optimize its espresso and milk frother. I can only hope that the Brevillle Bambino Plus will last as long. Breville really hit a home run with this machine!
Some minor issues: 1. It takes a lot of force to lock the portafilter in when new. You do have to hold the Bambino in place. It is much easier now that I have used the machine frequently. 2. I find that the drip tray pulls out much too easily.
This is a great little machine. I wish it was easier to foam less milk. It seems targeted toward those who want a lot of milk and I end up with either wasted milk or less-perfect foam when using a smaller foaming pitcher of my own.
This tiny machine makes great espresso and steams milk perfectly. All of this is basically automatic--put in the coffee and push the espresso button, fill the steaming pitcher to the proper level and place it under the wand. (I understand there are ways of adjusting everything, but why bother when the coffee is this good?) My only issue is the light weight of the machine. I have to hold it tight with one arm to twist the coffee into place--takes my full weight to keep the machine from turning.
