The convenience of the double-walled cups is terrific. I make both cappuccino and espresso using Bustelo ground coffee. (I use the double espresso size cup.) The cappuccino is terrific. The espresso is good, but I usually add water I boil on the side to make an Americano.
I've also gone the whole way and bought the single-walled cups, a scale, and a quality grinder to make espresso, grinding whole beans and pulling my shots manually. It takes a lot of experimentation, but I can get a very good double cup of espresso out of this. Most of the time though, I just go with the double-walled and ground beans.
The machine is simple to operate, attractive, and sturdy. The one gripe I have is the tray is a bit small and fills up rather quickly, requiring frequent emptying. Other than that, I couldn't be happier.

I have had several espresso machines over the years. I never really had one that consistently created the crema froth on the top after brewing. This machine far exceeds my expectations. Not only is it a great machine with amazing coffee brewing capabilities, but the customer support I received with questions about the cleaning cycle was outstanding! I love Breville!

Thought I'd follow-up with my review here, from about 7 months ago. I have to say that I'm still awed by the performance of this small machine. All features are still working and going strong, and I do use this every day. I've now gone thru at least 3-4 cleaning cycles and 1 de-scaling cycle and all is good. I did replace the porta-filter with a SS 54mm filter and single-wall basket and find that my expressos definitely improved. Getting the grind nailed down is the secret and I'm luv-ng it.
