Machine does take a little learning. Need to adjust shot size, learn how to grind beans, and to fill properly. Took about a week. Now I get a great cappuccino every morning! No more bitter and over filled cappuccinos from that coffee place.

Excellent coffee! Confusing cleaning instructions.

Makes a great espresso and creamy foam. The cleaning cycle instructions provided in the booklet don’t make sense to me. It tells you to put a bowl under the brew head but nothing actually comes out because it’s blocked by the cleaning disk. Instead the wastewater comes out in the drip tray and leaks out of the bottom which is a bit messy. I suggest putting the machine on a cookie sheet when doing this.

This machine is perfect for my husband and myself. We’ve been using it for a month now and absolutely love the quality of our beverages! This initially was a gift for my husband. Before acquiring the Bambino Plus I liked espressos and lattes I’d had at the different restaurants we’ve visited, but they do not come close to the quality that we’ve been able to make with our new machine. Now, I have to say, this has turned out to be a gift to myself, also. In addition to quality beverages, this is a beautiful addition to our kitchen. We have the champagne finish and oh, it’s so pretty! This purchase was definitely a great one.

This machine also does not express equally out of both sides and leaks under the drip tray. I wish customer service had just told me this was a thing and I would have avoided the hassle of a return. The new one, in fact, sprays more milk onto the counter when auto-cleaning the wand than my first one did.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Unit, You are Doomed if Something Goes Wrong, though

The product is great. The support processes are horrible. I got shipped the wrong unit and it took an act of God to get the problem corrected. I was asked to unbox the unit and take photos? Why would I lie about this? They wouldn't ship a replacement until the original was returned. You can guarantee you will be asked for the same information over and over as if they cannot look up your purchase or maintain the information previously sent. Web design for submitting tickets is also horrible and has bugs. One aspect I don't like is that the portafilter dispenses two shots so if you want a single shot of espresso you get 2 half once espressos. I am currently asking support if there is another portafilter and of course, I have to provide an absurd amount of information when it should be clear whether there is or is not an option for the Bambino Plus!

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. We're sorry to hear of your experience. There's no portafilter for the BES500 with a single spout. You should be able to position a cup/mug so that all the espresso goes in the cup. We hope this gives you guidance.

great machine poorly designed cord and plug

I LOVE my machine - very pretty in a cream colored kitchen. I was afraid I'd hate having the machine on the counter but was surprised how much I liked the look - if not for the HUGE UGLY BLACK plug! Why?! I have managed to block it out as much as possible with the grinder (also sadly adorned with black). A tip to the designers who made this pretty, functional machine: generally speaking, those of us who choose the white model, have white or light kitchens and are hoping for a white cord - no one wants to see cords on appliances hanging out all over the counter. The fact that this plug extends about 3" out from the wall is also a problem. How often are we unplugging the machine anyway? Very strange design there. A low profile plug with down-facing cord is the way to go. I would have given five stars if not for this feature - and the fact I noticed they were applauding it's design on this site. On the plus side, it's easy to use and makes wonderful espresso every day :) We have had it for over 2 years without a problem. I had trouble with the cleaning instructions and customer service was excellent!
