This vacuum sealer works extremely well and can preserve food far longer than ordinary plastic wrap and zip lock bags. The containers are best for fragile foods (e.g. berries) that would be crushed (unless first frozen) if vacuumed in a bag. The bags are great for lettuce, sliced vegetables, cooked foods, deli meats, cheeses, avocado, etc. The hand-held device is very compact and easily stored in a drawer, so it doesn't occupy counter space. Yes, the containers and bags are a bit pricey; but are re-usable and will reduce wastage. Fresh blueberries in a sealed plastic container was good as new two weeks later. One trick I've discovered is wrapping up food in plastic wrap before inserting into the vacuum bag. It may feel like an extra step, but it keeps the bags cleaner as it doesn't directly come into contact with the food, and enables them to last longer for multiple uses.

I have had two issues so far. One bag simply wouldn’t work. Turned it on and it would run for a second or two and turn off. Other bags are fine.
And one of the large bags I only used once and the ziplock seal pulled away from the bag side when I went to pull it apart. So, ruined. Not cheap.

Excellent Vacuum Sealer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just starting out but I had another vacuum system so familiar with the benefits. This pump is much more powerful than the other one. I also like the glass container that can be moved to the oven.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a big fan of the Ziploc vacuum seal bags, but as those stared to be phased out, I was searching for an option that didn't take up counter space and was reusable.
