Poor black levels and edge light bleed is apparent

I tested this monitor out for a week. The stand has height, tilt, and rotate (the base) adjustments. The panel has 2 speakers that are fairly loud and sound OK. However, this panel has poor contrast and backlight edge bleed. Also has a matte coating that seems to be reflective, causing color and contrast shift depending on how you view it. It does not look like an IPS panel due to the coating. It's colour sauturation is also poor for a 10bit HDR ready panel. If enabling HDR in windows you must enable HDR manually on the panel OSD. The OSD is buggy, I was locked out of freesync and had to reset the panel after adjusting a few settings. If you change the brightness of a preset you are now in a user preset. Saving settings is very clunky. Overall.. not impressed for the money. Had to return it. I made a video review on Youtube, search Netcruzer Acer CB2 Ultrawide.

had it for around 5 minutes at home after a half hour drive i hooked it up and was ready to play.
then i noticed something strange with my wallpaper, i thought it was the much higher resolution but i decided to use a dead pixel checker just to make sure
there was a big group of around 20 of them in the bottom left corner. i paid 600$ i expect a working screen. but that was not what i got

Struggled to get maximum resolution to work

I used this monitor for couple months on my 2012 Macbook Pro and IMac, hoping to get the ultrawide resolution to work instead of using 2 monitors. However neither Mac's were able to display 3440x1440 or any 21:9 resolution. The monitor failed to detect the signal and showed a black screen. I though my Macs might be too old for ultrawide, perhaps??? After much research, some forum suggested that this monitor can display high resolution only at lower frequency. I managed to use the SwitchResX App to custom config display resolution and frequency at 50hz. Waala, full screen finally. It's a shame that neither Acer manual nor Support talks about this issue. Once I got it work, the display quality is decent. It is not top notch but good as a work monitor if you can get it at a discounted price. Not sure if it is good for gaming giving it can only run at 50Hz though.

I replaced my two SEIKI 1080p 60hz monitors with this, Huge quality improvement. HDR and black levels are great! Im not running any more than 60 fps on the games im playing, so this works. One thing I didnt expect, LOUD speakers!

Not as sharp as I would have expected and the image is stretched out, but it works fine for what I use it for. I doubt a really serious gamer would appreciate it.

Great for the Price

I got this on a sale. It definitely has some sort comings, however for the price i paid it is pretty good. The onboard speakers are surprisingly good, great colors, ips and 1440p ultra wide. The viewing angles are okay but not the best for an ips panel. There does not seem to be too much backlight bleed either.
The only real cons is that the panel is advertised as being HDR compliant, but the HDR experience is pretty bad. The HDR toggle in the menu seems to just be a per-calibrated color setting. It is the setting at which the screen looks the best imo.

Really nice big screen with a high resolution for an ultrawide. Worked great with pc and console. Only drawback is the brightness, it's a bit dimmer than I expected and noticeably darkens on the periphery.

Unexpectedly good speakers

I'm not a huge videofile, but this monitor is great for the price when on sale. I realized I'd rather have the good response times and clarity of an IPS monitor over a VA display. I like that the speakers are good enough that I don't feel the need to clutter my desk with separate ones. Sure, the bass doesn't have the oomph of a subwoofer, but it's still pretty good. USB hub also a nice bonus (mine only has 2 USB ports). The stand looks sturdy but I opted to mount mine for a cleaner desk.
