Beautiful set, well worth the money!

I really enjoyed every aspect of this set! From reading the history of the Ford Mustang described in the beginning of the instruction manual, to building the set, to displaying it afterwards! It appears that the issue where some painted bricks didn't line up well has been fixed, all mine lined up perfectly right out of the box!
The build was probably one of the more challenging sets I've made although not as complex as the Technic Porsche and Bugatti sets. The instruction manual is very well made and any rare mistakes I made was due to me not paying attention to what I was doing!
I really love all the included modifications you can make to the set! I wish more Lego sets were designed like this! The engine looks awesome, the interior is very classy and the hidden adjustable suspension is a nice touch!
I would like to mention that I was missing a single piece, a dark blue 1x10 plate. It's an odd piece to go missing but I looked back at the bags, the box, and all around my build area but didn't see that piece. Fortunately it's not very noticeable I've already sent a request for a replacement piece. With that said, I haven't read any other reviews with this piece missing so I expect it's simply a single set mistake. I hope my request all goes through properly so I can actually complete the set!

Thanks for your review. It's very unusual for a LEGO® set to be missing any pieces. (Usually they're found stuck in the packaging or hiding on the floor!) But in the rare case something is missing, we're always here to help at LEGO.build/Service-BV. We're glad you got in touch, and happy building!

Totally amazing!

I hadn't had any LEGO since I was a kid, but when I saw this advertised online I was very tempted to get it so I went in store to have a look. When I saw it I knew I had to get it but was worried as it looked very complicated and was quite expensive! I decided to buy it and when I got it I was surprised as although it was quite fiddly in places and sometimes awkward to put together, I managed and the experience was very rewarding!
Although it is expensive, the price is completely justified as the level of detail is superb! I was shocked at how amazingly everything worked and how true to life it was! I did struggle at times to put it together but it was worth it in the end as it is so detailed.
My only complaint is that the two biggest pieces, the windscreens were both noticeably scratched in my set. I feel like they could've been better protected from scratching with other pieces as they are the biggest transparent pieces in the set! Now I have spotted the damages I won't be able to 'un-notice' them.
Despite the minor complaint I think this set is awesome! It was a joy to put together and, due to its complexity, left me smiling ear-to-ear on several occasions when it all came together so perfectly! I would totally recommend this to any car enthusiast like myself and I hope they bring out more like these!

Scratched pieces? Oh no! Don't worry, though; we'd be happy to fix that. Just go to LEGO.com/Service, choose the "Bricks & Pieces" section, and pick the "Broken Bricks" option.

My favorite...I shall call her Eleanor

This is the best Expert Creator car set that Lego has released yet. I love the build, the colors, the printed tiles, the minimal use of stickers, the multiple configurations, and the all-out presence of the completed model. I even went so far as to buy a display case for it.
I highly recommend this set to car enthusiasts and novices alike.
I did have quality control issues with my kit. I have included pictures as I had scratches, wavy prints, and warped pieces in my set.
I have included pictures. I would do it all again even with the issues I had. I know quality control issues happen. I have had several Lego sets with scratched pieces, missing pieces, damaged stickers, and warping.
I know Lego will do what they can to make it right. I have ordered replacements parts for my scratched windshields and wavy printed tiles. I just do not understand why in 2019 Lego is still shipping large windshield pieces like this in bags with multiple pieces. I think the windshield should be individually bagged or placed in small cardboard boxes like rubberbands/capes.
The warping issues are not as common. I had issues with pieces in my hood. The hood would not close properly. I tried replacing with other pieces in my collection without luck. I had to substitute 2 pieces and now hood closes fine.
Thank you for looking at my review. This is a wonderful build and the crown jewel of my Expert Creator cars.

Needs improvements but still amazing set! <3

I'm a super hard critic on this so I'll lay this out simple to not overexplain. I love this set as my wife got it for my birthday and am proudly displaying it. But I am giving this a overall 4/5 stars as there could be a lot of improvements and it's most definitely not the most perfect build. I may add some things to correct things I listed below.
Engine bay was very well recreated including the supercharge add on. The body styling is very well defined without using custom bricks. Build instructions are great and super easy to follow, just don't rush the build! Take your time.
----- Issues and thing to improve on: -----
- #1 concern on this build of mine: the trunk. Huge overlook by LEGO. We shouldn't have to see the gears or structural parts. I added a simple 1x4 and 4x8 plate as in the pictures to quickly remedy this and would not have deterred from anything on the build. Better option (parts on order), is a 1x8 between the tan pillars, then a 4x10 should fit in the back on a 1x4 or 2 1x2's to completely cover everything without hindering the suspension adjustment. NOS tank still fits perfectly with these added.
- Huge complaint on this, the side stripes. Honestly should have been stickers, although I hate stickers, LEGO obviously cant print these on the bricks evenly, lots of them crooked or misalign and a couple wasn't even printed clearly, looked fuzzy or splotchy.
- Instruction book wasn't cut properly, see photos. :(
- On the build instructions... the instructions kept jumping back and firth on random areas of the car half way in and wasn't necessary, could have finished the doors, interior, rear, front/engine all at once but the instructions jumped back and forth a lot once the frame was all set.
- Grill emblem isn't centered, bad print alignment. Also cannot order a replacement piece.
- Quarter panel scoops top halves don't match the bottom halves as they should, the corner brick should be replaced accordingly with a corner plate, 1x1's plates, and 1x1 round plates to match the bottom half and won't ruin the structure.
- Could have added pedals under the steering.
- The tan gap on the top of the dash should be black to continue the flow of the dash as it should be.
- NOS tank should be able to be put on the center console as another user custom modded.
- Optional orange fog lights and headlight blackouts.
- As another user pointed out, the hood has a gap and doesn't close right. The cause of this is the 1x8 plate with rails. Take them off and boom, fixed. Maybe replace with 2x2 round slide shoes.
- Turn radius could be improved, not very good.
- Supercharger could use a V-Belt Ø15 like the engine, plus, why are the belts white? They should be black.
- The cross axle parts that hold the wheels are mismatched in color, the front ones need to be the same color as the back ones. Also… no tri-spoke hub caps for the wheels?
- Maybe make the spoiler an optional 2x14 instead of 3x14 in size as it seems a little big.
- In side of the doors could use work, could have added the reflector and a little more of the door styling.
- Could have added the quarter windows to the doors.
I'm sure there's more I may have missed but this is the main points.
But like I said, I'm a hard critic, but this build is a great set, with these improvements it would be so much better though. I hope to see another Mustang build come out again!

Very nice car! I have enjoyed every minutes what I spent with building it. Awesome color. The booklet is nice. My personal opinion is mybe put more information about this iconic car.
One negativ expitience: the decoration paintwork on both side is very, very poor quality. I have attached a photo of this.
I spent a lot of time to find the passing elements. Was not successful.
I reccomend it for everyone!

Less than perfect instructions
on March 2, 2019
Posted by: Bullitt
The windshield was the most difficult and frustrating part. The attachments at the hood/bonnet were nowhere near perfect fitting according to the instructions. It required going back to previous instruction steps and removing some pieces. Some of the angles of the images in the instructions poorly indicate where some pieces need to be attached. I expect much better from Lego.

Thanks for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you've had some trouble with the instructions. With trickier sets, some of our fans prefer to use the online version at LEGO.com/Service, that way they can zoom in on difficult sections. Or if you need a hand, you can always get in touch with our brick experts by phone, email, or live chat. They'd be happy to help.

Fun until my pieces didn’t match up
on January 8, 2020

I was so excited to start on this kit. It was so fun working on up until I got to page 41 and my pieces didn’t match. Idk it it is me or what I took it apart and reconstructed it a few times and still the same. I’m very annoyed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hmmm...looks like you've got the blue pieces on backwards! Try switching them around so that those holes are flush against that threaded piece. You'll need to move the red pieces added in step 30 over to the correct spot first.
