Great Bike, but missing that shine

Was fun building and design was excellent made. Just wish the light grey was Silver Metallic, it would made it 5 star bike, like the Mustang and James Bond car.

Interesting building experience. Cool to witness how a pile of bricks can recreate a Harley Davidson. Complaints are that chrome silver color is much better for this model and that the price is a bit too high

The photos don't do it justice

This is a marvelous kit. Magnificently designed and magnificently engineered. I keep saying to myself "what a great way to do that". You need to study it closely to really appreciate it. The photos just don't do it justice.

A very unique item. I was very fascinating by how the chain/gear was put together. I like to take it outside during a sunny day, and it goes well with Sony camera.

Harley Davidson Fatboy

I was real excited about getting this in the beginning. Looked forward to putting this together but as I went through each stage legos would keep falling off. Today I was on the 4th and final stage and parts flew off again, this time in places that I have no choice but to take apart the whole frame and rebuild again. Great for money value and time for playability but this is very frustrating. There are only a few spots that I can touch without parts falling off. I am now taking this apart to start from scratch as I’m writing this. So far disappointed.

We're sorry you had some trouble with the set. The good news is that taking it apart and starting from scratch is just what will do the trick! We test and retest all our sets to make sure they'll stay together well, so when pieces fall off, that's a sign that something was a little out of place earlier on in the build.

If you need a hand troubleshooting your rebuild, give Customer Service a shout at www.LEGO.build/Service.

Realistic, but color is wrong.

I always enjoy building Lego motorbikes, and this is one of my favorites. The build is new and fun for a Creator Expert set, and the pieces are easy to find, and the model is realistic and huge. The V2 engine is realistic but dumb because the pistons are totally hidden from sight. And pretty much the every light bluish gray piece should be replaced with a chrome silver one. I am positive that there is no Fat Boy in the world with anything but a silver engine, shock absorbers, wheels, and handlebars. The light bluish gray mistake wrecks the motorbike’s looks. I also wish that pieces more smooth than barrels were used to end the exhausts and shock absorbers. I would also like to see the back fender secured on better, as it bends down onto the back wheel if pressure is applied. And, all the studs under the chain get to me.
This is overall a good set, and would recommend it to anybody looking for a fun and exciting Creator Expert set to build. And would advise anyone who cares about colors or perfect realisticness to buy the Ford Mustang instead.

Needed Chrome

I like the model and the general design. It would have been even better with chrome pipes and forks.
Also, while it is nifty that the pistons move when the back wheel turns, there is no way to actually tell this is happening. I've looked through pickabrick for some transparent parts to replace some of the engine parts so you could actually see this action, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Very nice replication of the original
on July 23, 2019

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the build and the final look overall. I like how the designers were able to take existing LEGO elements and use them into pretty accurate replicas of actual motorcycle parts. As a rider myself, I appreciate this level of detail. This will make a nice display piece with the rest of my LEGO vehicles. That being said, there are some things that could have been done better:
-The moving pistons are pretty much a pointless endeavor because you can't actually see them moving like you can on the Technic cars. You'd have to dismantle the gas tank to truly appreciate it. Seems like a bit of overkill and really doesn't add any value.
- I would have liked to see the forks and exhaust pipe be a little smoother and not so broken up. In the case of the forks, I'd love for them to be completely round and not as boxy as they come out. I would have sacrificed the higher piece count to have these be smoother and more true to the bike.
