Simply Amazing

This was everything I look for in a LEGO set. A long involved build with many clever solutions, this was a very enjoyable build experience for me.
Only for display, not minifigure scale, and an adult build for sure, but I still really love this Batmobile.

Ok but missing pieces

The overall set is FANTASTIC yet it was missing pieces
I highly recommend be cautious with the instructions as you can miss some part of the instructions.

Oh no! It’s very rare for a LEGO® set to be missing pieces. Usually you’ll find them stuck in the packaging, used in place of a similar piece, or hiding somewhere near your building area.

Centerpiece for my collection.

When I saw this thing on display in the lego store in the austin location, I knew I was coming back a week later to pick one up. It's the 1989 Batmobile! The classic by Tim Burton will forever have a special place in my heart as one of my favorite movies of all time, so when I saw this 3300 piece beast in the store I snagged it. Stayed up through the night to build it. 9 hours. This thing is bad to the bone. The steering wheel for the minifigs actually connects to a front axle, and the wheels, so functionally it turns like a car would. I also appreciate the nice detail of the special minifigures designed specifically like the 1989 films characters, rather than keeping the same standard looks of the Joker and Batman that lego usually uses, not to mention the cool little stand that is based off of the church rooftop from the final scenes of the movie. Absolute beauty of a set and I almost wish I hadn't opened it because I know someone is going to want one after they're retired!

Great Model Batmoblie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It took me about a week to put the 1989 Batmobile lego together. it was very fun doing it. I like how it came with the booklet about the Batmobile give you more information about Batman and his Batmobile.

One of the best sets in recent memory

The title says it all, this is one of the best sets Lego has released in the past couple years, and I say this with the experience of having purchased every single one of their collector sets they have released in that time frame.
This is quite possibly the funnest build experiences I've had from Lego. I've always loved the sets that combine a Technic interior that holds it together with a smooth Lego exterior. It's amazing how they were able to capture all the curves, and the sliding ability of the customized windscreen is sublimely smooth.
The Batmobile is way larger than it looks in pictures, and the details are exquisite. I watched Batman 1989 during part of the build and every time the Batmobile was onscreen, I paused to compare. The design is an almost flawless replica! I have literally nothing bad to say about this set.
And it is hard to build, there were several spots with complicated assemblies that I had to go back and redo because the offset is wrong. That's not a bad thing in my opinion, it boggles my mind how the designers can come up with these things.I noticed quite a few new Lego techniques I haven't seen before.
The model is solid, extremely solid. I fear having to disassemble it someday because of how securely and double-securely every brick is attached to each other. That's also a good thing!
If I could rank this a 6 out of 5, I would. The one drawback is the stickers, but there aren't that many and only a couple had a complicated placement. That's not enough to effect my review though. Do yourselves a favor and buy this while you still can! Batman has a unique cape, and you might never get another opportunity to own a Kim Basinger minifig or a Jack Nicholson Joker minifig either!

Great Set

I loved building this set. Looks fantastic. I hate having stickers vs printed bricks. It would go a long way with fans to get rid of stickers. Also, the back wheels kind of rub a little bit but hard to isolate where. It still moves pretty easy, just not as freely as the front wheels.

Thanks for your review. Sounds like some of the moving pieces might be pressed together a little too tightly. A bit of rebuilding - making sure to give gears, axles, and wheels a little extra space - should do the trick. And you can always get in touch at LEGO.build/Service for help troubleshooting the build.

I seriously love all of the attention to detail on this set. The way the designers were able to get the angles of this set pretty much exact to the real batmobile still leaves my jaw hanging. If I were to have one problem with this set, it’s that the attachments to the wings at the back seem to curve outward a little bit. Besides that, the rest of the set is flawless!!

this was my first ever large lego set and i have to say the experience was amazing, the set was delivered all the way to alaska with no damage to the box due in part to the heavy padding it came with. Every minute was exciting as i got to see this beautiful car come together every piece fitting together filled me with the warmth i feel every time i watch the 89 and 92 batman films nostalgic and seeing this car complete brought the biggest smile to my face thank you lego for bringing this set to us all.
