It’s the 1989 Batmobile! What more could you want?

First of all I’m a big Batman fan so when the promotional material came out for this I already knew I was going to buy it. And as far as I have been able to tell from building and now displaying it, this set is amazing. From the very accurate design to the steering wheel actually moving the front wheels to the pop up guns this set just screams a collectors dream set.
The only down side I would say (which really isn’t one) is this is much more a display piece than a playset. While there is playability to it, (you could almost fit action figures in the driver seat) it is quite heavy and would not make for an ideal driving around Batmobile like some of the smaller ones would.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the set, but came with incorrect piece.

We love this set. It has been very fun to build and we can't wait to have it finished and on display! However, when we opened bags 20 and 21, we realized our set came with an incorrect piece for the body work. It is supposed to have 3 each of a "right" (brick #6271278) and "left" (brick #627127) angled piece. We have 4 rights and only 2 lefts. So, now we have to wait for Lego to mail the correct piece to finish the set.
I would recommend this to a friend!

An excellent set overall; could be a bit better

Overall, the 1989 Batmobile was a very challenging and engaging set (which is what I was hoping for). However, there are a few small things that could slightly improve it. Firstly, I think that the Joker minifigure from this set should have been switched out with the one from the 1989 Batwing set, and vice versa, as they both would be slightly more accurate to the film as a result. Also, it can be pretty frustrating to try and change the direction of the front wheels, as the steering wheel can be very hard to turn. Lastly, it would have been nice to have a few more printed pieces, especially in the cockpit area.
Despite these nitpicks, however, this is probably my favorite set that I have built thus far, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys LEGO, Batman, or even just cars in general. However, I once again emphasize that this is a challenging set to build (by LEGO standards, of course), so I would recommend that this not be someone's first set. The 16+ age recommendation is no joke.

As soon as i found out about the set i needed to get it...
I am a big fan of the Batman Movies from 1989 and it has some sentimental value to me as well. However, this set is great. A lot of interesting building options and techniques. Sadly, also some flaws in the design when looking closer but, as a display piece which is standing on a shelf... it is just great.
Well, i will sit down now and build the Batwing!

Wife got me this set as my first truly adult lego set. I took my time with it doing a bag a time over a few weeks. Worth every second and every penny. Have loved legos since I was a kid and this set got me right back into the feeling I had as a kid. Opening the packs and sorting the pieces. That feeling is worth its weight in gold!

This set is absolutely amazing! A nice, challenging build. I liked how all of the bags were numbered, and that I was able to use one bag at a time. This piece is massive and has weight to it. It goes along very nicely with the other large technic sets. I also like the inclusion of the mini figures which adds a nice touch to the overall set. The detail is absolutely beautiful, and really captures the essence of the vehicle in the movie. As a lego fan and a batman fan, I an extremely pleased with this set and would highly recommend this to anyone. This set gets a 10/10 for me.

Just an amazing model from top to bottom. Tim Burton’s 89 Batman has always had a special place in my life. I always wanted LEGO to make that Batmobile. Y’all succeeded it’s incredible how the model has all the right curves and distinct features like the movie.
