Incredible dinosaur and fun playset

First off: I did not know this set existed. Whilst browsing my local LEGO store this set jumped out at me -- after all Jurassic Park is one of the best movies of modern times.
The T-Rex was one of the most fun builds I can remember, and it is so detailed and HUGE! The playset has lots of fun easter eggs for fans of the hit movie. This is one set you will want to showcase in your collection, up front where everyone can see it.
I will confidently say that this is in my top 5 LEGO sets of all time, partly due to nostalgia but also partly due to its incredible detail and impressive size. It was well worth the money.

Delicate design

My husband and I do builds for fun. I was obsessed with the look of this and couldn’t wait to build it. I didn’t think I would be building the dinosaur over and over though. His head is too heavy and causes it to fall and look down all the time. If you try to reposition the head up the legs wobble. We thought we had done something wrong because we have never had design flaws like this before with any of our other builds. So there we go taking it apart to rebuild before we even start on the gate. Rebuild and have the same issue. If you walk by the table we’re building on too quickly or bump the table even slightly the dinosaur face plants and his head falls off. When you try to put the head back on you have to be super careful or the legs fall off. Then you put the legs back together and the tail falls off. So this time we finally get it back in one piece and move it to the display while we’re finishing the gate. Come downstairs this morning and there he is face-planted against the glass :(
I love the details of the gate and the scenes inside but looks like the dinosaur is going back in the box until we can find a way to secure him without falling over. I refuse to reattach his head a 5th time. So sad I can’t display it as he is great looking!

The Dinosaur is fragile..

I am having major issues with my dino's leg(s) falling off. If i so much as pick her up, or slightly move her, i have a whole leg falling off. Perhaps i have bad axel pegs, i'm not sure. I went searching online and others people showing reviews online are not having the same issues, unless they didn't comment on it. I have read a lot of people stating they glued theirs, perhaps i might need to do the same... Outside of that issue, i ADORE my dinosaur. It was a must have the moment i saw it online.
The gate is fun, and the scenes are cute. Though i wish i did have Gennaro for my toilet scene.
Overall i love the set, i just need to trouble shoot my dinosaur issues.

That's strange, the leg shouldn't fall that easily. Be sure that you hear the little "click" when you clip the axles, to make sure that all the pieces are fully pressed together.

Please make more Jurassic Park sets!

This set is amazing. I am not a big LEGO builder, but I LOVE the movie and when I saw this, I was over the moon. It looks so cool! Now I need a Jurassic Park Ford Explorer Lego set and Genaro, Lex and Tim mini figures so my T Rex has something to step on.

I enjoyed everything about the dinosaur - the colors, the internal surprise, I even enjoyed the color of the "fill pieces" that don't show when completed. I definitely choose my favorite sets by "color" as much as the build and this one had both visual weight and the earth tones I enjoy the most.
On another note, I don't think your marketing photos capture the enormity of the dinosaur. I think strategically placing a figure on or closer to the dinosaur would attract more attention. I almost didn't purchase this set even though it was my favorite colors, because it didn't seem worth the $$, but I justified it by saying, with all those pieces, the dinosaur must be awesome and it is!
The gate vignettes are also nice, but sort of same build different set. I've built a lot of houses and castles :)
New favorite set. Great job. Thank you.

Great but...

This is an awesome set but I was very disappointed that it came with the largest plate in the set bent beyond use. Also there were a couple of pieces missing. No they are not stuck in the bags or fell on the floor. Luckily I have plenty of spares being a huge collector. I don’t usually see this level of quality or lack there of from Lego. Hope it’s a one time thing.

Amazing Size and Design

I absolutely love the T-Rex. Pictures do not do her justice on how big and detailed she is when done. The unique minifigures are beautifully detailed and design. The gate is a nice touch but I do wish the set could have skipped it and been a little less expensive. My nine-year-old son was so jealous of the T-Rex that we had to build him a T-Rex head out of just spare parts he had in his Lego box. :-) Keep up the great work Lego!!
