Great Idea

The ship in a bottle idea is brilliant and the bottle can be used to store other things as well (little fairy/hobbit house, a rose, anything you can build and fit inside it.) But the whole set has 962 pieces, the bottom of the bottle has over 100 pieces, and the pieces that make up the water is over 280 pieces. This, in my opinion, could have been done in a LOT less pieces, allowing it to be a LOT cheaper. But it’s a fun little set and I’m happily displaying it. I’m thinking of finding all of pieces that make up the ship in black, having a custom nameplate that says “Black Pearl”, and setting it next to my Silent Mary set.

Favorite display set of all time.

This is my favorite display set of all time. The ship is beautiful, and I'd have bought it alone as a display set. The bottle looks excellent, very well-thought out. The stand is well-built, clever, and enhances the look of the set. I, personally, did not use the blue water-studs, but they do not hurt the look of the set. Only complaint: the shade of brown used for the ship. Too orange. Loved the printed pieces, and the design on the sails was great. 100% satisfied.

Beautiful Display Piece

I actually voted for this one while it was on the Idea’s website. It’s very different from the original but still an amazing set. The entire line of Ideas sets is great in that we get to have something in Lego form that we typically couldn’t get. This set makes for the perfect desk/office display.

Ship in a Bottle

I usually stick with Star Wars sets, but I saw this kit online and had a perfect spot for it. I really enjoyed this kit; A lot of small pieces but still very enjoyable to build. I am most impressed with the bottle. The design and build of the bottom is pretty cool.

Frustrating... But worth it... In The End.

When i first saw that they had announced the ship in the bottle, I knew I had to have it. It was exactly what i wanted. Something that is not your everyday item and not your everyday lego set.
The set itself is an amazing set, i had a lot of fun building it. Even if half way through i felt like i wanted to cry because the bottle just wouldn't stay together and the boat would not stick to the bricks in the bottle.
But it was a great build, it kept me distracted for around 4-5 hours. Hours, which flew by. It's one of my favourite sets to build. Even though, sometimes, i felt like i was literally a guy building a literal boat in a literal boat, one false move and you'd have to start again (Meterophically Speaking).
But, when you get to the end and it's placed in its own LEGO stand, The Leviathian, looks amazing!!
