Fun, quick and cute build.
Super easy and it looks good on display. I've always wanted my own ship in a bottle, but this is still great alternative.

The outside of the bottle (the glass part) is a little somewhat difficult to build, but I mostly enjoyed the building experience

Looks Nice on the Shelf

So this is one of the nicer looking sets in my opinion. It looks amazing on the shelf and the details are excellent. However the piece count is severely inflated as a large chunk of the pieces are the small clear 1x1 pieces that make up the water at the bottom. The other negative I have is the bottle itself. The design is a head scratcher as there could have been way easier way to make the bottle. As it stands now, the bottle is very flimsy and prone to coming apart. I usually don't have any issues but when making the bottle it was a chore at time to get the pieces lined up properly to fit together. Besides some design issues this was a fun set and one I had my eye on for quite sometime. I don't regret buying it one bit.

Lots of Details

I am fairly new to this hobby. My husband has bought me a couple of the sets as they actually help me focus and alleviate anxiety by allowing me to occupy my mind with something healthier than stress and worry. I have built 3 sets so far but this is the one with the most detail. I loved the story about the original designer as well. It's a super cute piece that I actually have displayed as a centerpiece on one of our coffee tables in our home.

Interesting build, not very sturdy

Was fun to build, but many pieces over-inflate the piece count and navigating around the ship's sails was not an engaging experience. Wish the build on the ship was of higher quality.

This LEGO set is one of the best idea sets yet! It was so much fun to build and is an excellent show piece. We placed it on our shelf in our living room for everyone to see! We have received many compliments on it!

Beautiful piece!

I purchased this because I was excited to display the finished piece in my living room. It looks fantastic. I like the idea of a ship in a bottle, but find them a bit over the top, decor wise. The Lego version is cool, creative, and an awesome conversation piece! This was my first time building a Lego set. I found that everything was reasonably straightforward and doable, although the transparent bottle construction challenged me a bit. I found it impossible to connect the flat base of the bottle with the round corner pieces, and this made the overall construction of the bottle feel precarious. Not sure if I did something wrong, but in the end I got a fully constructed bottle that seems to be in okay shape. It might not be perfect, but it should hold up as long as no one goes and knocks it about aggressively.
Overall, I had fun building this, and would love to see more similar items from Lego! The other kit I'm coveting is the Piano, but that's a bit pricey for me for now. Maybe someday! I'd love to see more pieces that function as nice decor elements in the home.

Yet another full circle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got the BLACK SEAS BARACUDA for Christmas back in 89. Saw this back in 18 and HAD to have it. It turned out to be the first in two returns to my childhood, with the hospital being the second in 19.
