Pretty great set

This was a pretty fun, if a little tedious, build. The piece count is a bit skewed, since 234 of them are the little blue pieces used to simulate water and around 100 small clear pieces are used to build the bottom of the bottle (bottom as in, if it were standing up like a normal bottle). The rest of the bottle was a really fun build and came together really well, and while the ship is small it fits really well in the bottle. The only other complaint I have is it's difficult to evenly distribute the small blue water pieces between the 4 sections, but it's understandable given the pieces needed to build the bottle formed "walls" separating the front, back and each side of the ship. The highlight is the end result, as it just looks really great as a display.
Great product! Only thing that can be frustrating is putting all the clear legos together! Makes it somewhat difficult to double check placement. Putting it together when finished a bit hard. Ship is tiny and easy to build. I think it’s one of my favorite Lego sets. Everyone loves it!
I love this product. I would like to thank the creator Jack Sadovich for coming up with this concept. When I first saw it I knew what I wanted to do with it. As you can see from the picture yo will notice I’ve made it personal to me. My grandma and aunt were killed back in the summer of 2016 and them my grandpa passed away this past October. I thought this kit was a great way to have something to remember them by in a unique way. I hope Mr. Sadovich doesn’t mind me making it personal to me.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The awesome thing about LEGO® bricks is that you're only limited by your imagination, and we always love to see the ways our fans make our sets their own. We're really glad to hear that the Ship in a Bottle has inspired you to make such a wonderful memorial to your family. Thank you for sharing it with us.
My daughter and husband usually build Lego sets while I clean. But when I saw this set I just had to have it and try building it myself. I love everything nautical themed so it kind of spoke to me. We spent a rainy Good Friday building Lego sets. They built the Lego Old Fishing Store set while I worked on the Ship in a Bottle set. It only took me about 2 hours to build and I'm a novice. This set may have just sparked a new hobby for me as well. Thanks Lego!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hi there! Thank you for your review. It's great to hear that you and your family have found a new hobby to enjoy together. If ever you would like a catalog with our newest sets, contact us via chat, email or phone on our LEGO.com/Service page. We would be happy to help! Happy Building!
This set falls apart in a heartbeat. It is very finicky to assemble. At the very least, at the very very least, Lego could have made a clear 1x3 plate or 1x4 plate or specifically a clear 1x6 plate to hold the umpteen little 1x1 blocks and plates together. Making this bottle out of so many, and I do mean many many 1x1 plates and 1x2 plates was just not the right thing to do. I assume Lego needed to stay under a certain selling price point and thus the shortcuts in what could have been a quality build that actually holds together and would look better. In the end, I am somewhat happy I am now in possession of Lego bottle that I can fill with MOCs.
I like unique LEGO sets and this one is definitely unique; you build the clever little ship then you build the bottle from the bottom up and around the ship. Aligning all the little clear 1x1 slices takes patience but it’s totally worth it. I love the little touches that really make you think it’s a real ship in a bottle: the “wax” seal on the bottle, the “water” in the bottle, the shape of the bottle and the stopper, and so on. And there’s a bonus when you complete the stand; it has a spinning compass - too fun!
A fun (and sometimes frustrating) build. As others have mentioned, the ship lacks detail, and maybe it was just me, but the sails fell of the mast any time I touched it. But it was a lot of fun to put together, even though my heart stopped for a second when I opened up the bag with all the small clear pieces. It's a great display piece. The 1x1 clear blue parts are a really nice touch. The stand is very cool. Overall, I'm really happy with this build!
As soon as I found out about this set I thought to my self I must have it, because I’ve always wanted a Ship in a bottle but this is even better, and when I actually got it and built it I just loved it because of how awesome it looks.
