Extremely dissatisfied

Owned for about three years and in that time all plastic silverware cage mounts have broken, and this week the heating element failed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have had four problems with our new GE dishwasher and it is very unlikely that we will ever buy another GE appliance.

1. The discharge hose leaked when we installed the unit and we were unable to get a relacement hose. We were told by three appliance parts distributors what the part we needed was not available from GE. We ended up using glue to stop the leak.
2. One of the gardes which keeps the top drawer from sliding out is sprungand allows the drawer to come off the tracks when I pull it out unless I pull the track at the same time I pull the drawer.
3. The dry feature does not get the dishes totally dry.
4. The soap dispenser does not open automatically; therefore, I have to leave it open when I use the dishwasher.

WORST DISHWASHER IN 42 YEARS

THE ONLY THING THIS DISHWASHER HAS GOING FOR IT IS IT'S LOOK OUTSIDE.I WISH I HAD NOT GONE WITH GE WHEN I STARTED OFF WITH NEW APPLIANCES. BUT I WANTED TO KEEP THE SAME TYPE OF STAINLESS IN ALL OF THEM.FIRST THING AND MOST IMPORTANT IS WHEN WASHING ALMOST ALL THE TIME THE CASADE DOESN'T DESOLVE AND THE DOOR AND SILVERWARE HAS TO BE WASHED ALL OVER. I THINK TO DISHES ARE RINSED BUT I AM NOT READY TO RUN THIS DISHWASHER FOR ANOTHER 3 HOURS ON A HEAVY CYCLE.I KNOW THIS WAS THE TYPE OF DISHWASHER TO SAVE ON ELECTRIC BUT REALL!!!!!IF I COULD GIVE IT 0 STARS I WOULD. ALSO ON THIS SITE IT SAYS IT IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE..WHY IS THAT...I KNOW...

pretty but lots of cons

first of all its low to the ground and my back hurts evertime i load it. the silverware tray is strange who wants to spend the time putting each peice in a slot. then you have to tranfer it to the door
and third the run times are crazy . if you use all the features it would run about 4 hours seriously.
i'm using the quick cycle and it about 2 hours.
so . can not recommend this sorry

Whisper Quiet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good basic unit. Very easy to install (be sure to get flexible water supply line). Whisper quiet! Easy to load, has area for wine glasses. Glasses and dishes come out crystal clean and sparkling.

Everything we were looking for.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This dishwasher had everything we were looking for. Looks sharp and clean. Stainless steel interior. Surprisingly quiet despite the decible rating. Cleans well. The cycles last a little longer than our old one, and you have to make sure that long silverware isn't blocking the detergent hatch. Those are the only downfalls so far!
