Poor Design

I chose this water dispenser because it’s one of few that filter out micro-plastics. I’ve had the filter for less than a year and so far the top sliding lid has broken off twice and I’ve had to ask for a replacement. The plastic track is so flimsy it just breaks apart from traction use when I only fill up the filter 2-3 times a week.
The dispenser is difficult to use and it leaks. I’ve had Brita filters that offer a fast flow of water from the dispenser to your cup. This takes double the time and hurts your finger to use. The way it’s designed, after you use it to dispense water it leaks and collects water in the dispenser causing a pink bacteria colony to collect right where the water comes out. I had to clean mine with a q-tip as the cleaning instructions don’t say anything about how to clean the dispenser portion. I was really looking forward to this dispenser but disappointed with the defects in design for the cost of the product, I wish the company would create something better (maybe look into how other home dispensers line up and where lifestraw lacks).

Amazing pitcher!

I love my Lifestraw pitcher. The previous one I had was made from glass and it broke because of hitting against my countertop a little too hard. I did not know that Lifestraw changed to plastic. So glad they did!

Really slow, inconvenient

The way this dispenser actually dispenses water takes a couple minutes for you to fill up a nalgene, and when you're bending over into your fridge to do that, it's not great. Both my partner and I agree that this is more of an inconvenience that we wouldn't have paid this much for. It also takes forever to fill up. Not sure why this is so popular.

Excessive leaking

While I loved this product while it worked, I have to warn people: the design is fundamentally flawed; after minimal use (a few weeks), the spring keeping the spout secure weakens and water just continually leaks. I did not heed the warnings of the reviews that mentioned this leaking issue and I should have.
