Not happy with the spout
on February 1, 2023

The water spills from the spout while not in use. I placed it in our refrigerator. All the water leaked into the fridge and it was everywhere. I owned a stand up pitcher and loved it so I got this one. It needs a better spout.

Fell in love but was later disappointed

I bought this water filter dispenser a couple months ago and fell in love with it instantly. The design is sleek and aesthetic while the taste of the water is just perfect. I mean it! The water tastes absolutely amazing. However, I held out on leaving a review as soon as I got it because I wanted to give it some time for me to test it out and give an honest review. So some downsides are how slowly the water filters through the dispenser which was bothersome at the beginning but I got use to it considering how good the taste of the water comes out and how it makes me feel secure knowing that the water I am drinking is properly filtered out. Now a new problem that has arised a couple days ago is that the easy pour spout has begun leaking and I mean leaking excessively. At first it was minimal but just yesterday I got home from work and the whole bottom of my fridge had formed a puddle. My dispenser which I had left full in the morning was more than halfway emptied. I really wanna make it work but I don’t know at this point. I might have to get another one but I am just a bit irritated that it’s only been a couple of months and I already have to replace it which sucks.

Absolutely best water filter, and we've tried them all.

Absolutely best water filter, and we've tried them all. Our NYC water had fine sediment, which was clogging the lead reduction filters by Pur and Brita (that no shaking could unclog), while the standard Pur/Brita filters weren't able to filter out the sediment at all, leaving visible sediment buildup at the bottom of the tank/pitcher The LifeStraw filter is able to filter out all the sediment (in addition to lead, etc.), is very fast (faster than even a new lead reduction Pur/Brita filter), and the water tastes great. This product literally solved all of our problems, with no tradeoffs.
I'll also add that, as an engineer myself, it's very cool to see the hollow fiber membrane technology in action and used in such an effective way. The two step filtration system of the LifeStraw filter is exactly how you want to design state-of-the-art water filtration, and is exactly how much larger under-sink/commercial filtration systems work. It's amazing that the LifeStraw filter gives us all of this in a compact tabletop product
Cannot recommend this enough. If you're sick of either clogging or ineffective Pur/Brita filters, don't look back.

I love this filter but after a few months it starts leaking from latch. This has happened to me on two separate home dispensers.

A bit unwieldy
on February 7, 2023

This pitcher replaced an aging Mavea unit, after Mavea abandoned the U.S. market.
It works fine, but it's tall and narrow, which makes it a bit unwieldy to use. I preferred the more traditional Mavea pitcher shape.
Mine also leaked--rather than being molded as one piece, the bottom of the pitcher is a separate piece, and mine leaked. LifeStraw responded promptly and replaced it, but it seems like an odd and problematic design choice.
