Horrible Design

I told my husband that I had never been so excited to receive something in the mail and I was on the waitlist for months. I wanted to like this filter sooo bad, but the design of the spout is just horrible! You have to push it in (rather than a pull-down spout like other brands) and when the dispenser gets to be half empty it's no longer heavy enough to remain in place since you are pushing, resulting in it sliding backward. You have to hold the dispenser to keep it from moving around, which means I can't keep this in the fridge either and it has been a permanent resident on my already small counter. I've only had the dispenser for 7 months and the spout has recently started leaking so now it has to sit over my sink from the amount of water that flows out of it. It already takes a long time to fill up (which I didn't mind), but I'm now having to fill it up constantly from the loss of water (which I do mind). It's such a shame that I have to buy another filter, from a different company this time, because the water quality really was awesome! The water quality is the only reason I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1.

Well-structured packaging and clear instructions

Well-structured packaging and clear instructions made setup very easy. Water from the filter is definitely much higher quality than from my well. I noticed I've been drinking about twice as much water now that I'm using the filter!
Flow is adequate for my family of five. My only concern is filter longevity and changing filters frequently enough given the volume of water we're drinking.

Lifestraw helps me feel better about my water here in Southern NJ. Not that our water is unfit to drink, but just knowing that Lifestraw allows me to feel more comfortable about keep chemicals and lead out of our drinking water.

I am confused by whether

I am confused by whether it is effective at filtering water. Home tester is giving me readings of 100-126 immediately after purchase. I double checked accuracy of tester by testing bottled water, results 00 -002. I thought original filter might be faulty, so I changed filter after a week of use. Readings unchanged. What do numbers mean, when should I be worried about what contaminants. Problem is all 7 of my cities wells are contaminated with high PFA levels.

For years I have lived in town on municipal water and "trusted" the water source, I have since moved to the country and on well water. It has been rough getting used to the well water until Lifestraw. Now we filter our water and love it.
