Terrible

Anyone who's given this more than one star is a liar. The filter housing is not removable once it's been wet. I've tried for 2 days, and I'm afraid if I struggle more it will break the glass.

Water tastes like plastic. Should I remove water after filtering to a glass pitcher?

Leaks

I’m on my second pitcher. The first started leaking so I ordered a new one thinking it was just old. Nope. Second one is leaking with no cracks anywhere. I can’t switch to the glass pitcher because I have three young kids who use it too. I love the filter because the water tastes good, but I’m probably going to cancel my subscription and get the new Brita that filters microplastics.

Filter subscription convenience

It’s a great convenience having a filter subscription, it makes it so easy to remember when to change the filter. Mostly I appreciate Life Straws mission to make drinking water safe all over the world.

Now I know

I had all sorts of digestive … issues … when we moved here and started drinking the tap water as we’d done without problems at our old house.
Switched back and forth between tap and LifeStraw water the first two weeks because I’d forgetten we had the filtered water. I realized the tap water was making me sick.
No … issues … with LifeStraw filtered water. Honestly, it tastes like it's ‘not been touched by human hands’.
But, trust me, when that bacteria filter was full, my digestive system knew it right away. I do wish there was a warning system for that, based on clogging or capacity remaining, rather than on time or fills. Of course, I’m probably referring to the pitcher, not the filter.
Filter is amazing. Water is crystal clear. Again, reminds me of that tiny tropical island where human hands are not allowed.

Replaces RM system
on March 29, 2025

My wife and I are both enjoying our new Lifestraw pitcher. This will replace the under sink reverse osmosis system we were going to purchase until our neighborhood wide RM system is online. My wife thought it was just another Brita pitcher until she read the ‘fine print’ on what your product actually filters!
