Not worth it

I read the reviews on this product before buying and I did notice someone had already said theirs broke within a short time of using it but I decided to buy anyway as I thought that could just be user error. I was wrong. Within a couple of months of using my pitcher it shattered. I was always careful to set it down gently as it is glass and I never knocked it into the side of the counter by accident as that is easy to do with the shape of it. I simply set it down onto my linoleum counter top (NOT EVEN HARD STONE LIKE MARBLE OR GRANITE!!!) and I heard a crack and sure enough I look and the whole pitcher is webbed all the way up with cracks! It was nice while it lasted, I liked the aesthetic of the glass versus plastic and I am picky about the taste of my water and I did like the taste from the LifeStaw Pitcher however, for the price of the product, it's not worth it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We are deeply sorry to hear about the complications you experienced with your pitcher!! Some breakage can be expected with a glass product, so we have a warranty in place that helps issue replacements if needed.

Some design choices are kind of annoying but wow does it work!!! If your water at home tastes really bad or you are concerned about contaminants either from the source or from within the pipes in your home, I highly recommend this filter system. The difference in taste is almost unbelievable -- you can tell the difference even just from smell. The Life Straw pitched filtered water even tastes better than most bottled water. It tastes crisp and absolutely pure. The taste of other pitcher filters I've used before doesn't compare at all. There are a couple annoying things about the design, like how slow it is but you can't pour from it while there is water being filtered. It's also very tall so doesn't easily fit in a fridge. The amount that you can filter at one time is only about one big glass full, so you'll need to be refilling a lot. But if your water tastes bad or is unhealthy, it's totally worth it. Plus, I'm already drinking more water because I like it so much more, so the pitcher is improving my overall health as a result of getting me to drink more water.
I like its sleek and useful design (handle placement, rubber-edged cap, refill cap), but I wish you could add more water at once. It probably takes 5-10 minutes to completely filter what you just put in, which appears to be only 24oz. I use a 36oz water bottle and refill it frequently. It's been harder to regularly refill like I usually do. But! As I sit here and complain about struggling to pour enough water into the pitcher at once... I'm glad to help your cause!
I have used a reverse osmosis water purifier for many years. I am extremely allergic to chlorine and do not normally drink tap water. The LifeStraw Home pitcher has changed my water drinking habits. I conducted a taste test and the LifeStraw Home pitcher filtered water tasted no different from that purified by the machine.
