Thirst!

Apparently I am one of those people who get thirsty when I use a filter. Online someone said that Brita affects them as well. It is not electrolytes. Only filtered water makes me thirsty. So I won't be using it.

Great tasting water

Water is super clear and tastes like it should. Slow to filter, as opposed to other filter pitchers, but it filters out a lot more.

This is wonderful! Its minimal, looks great on our counter, and it is easy to clean. I previously had the large pitcher form, but it was too difficult to clean. This one is great!

Filter Vermont Well water

I do love the filter. I live in Vermont and have a well. The pitcher gives me peace of mind about my water. I have a whole house filter and softener, but the Life Straw pitcher makes my water taste like fresh and clean.

I really hate this pitcher.

Let me start by saying I love LifeStraw. Love their mission and products. I've had this pitcher for approximately 7 years since Lifestraw first introduced it as a Kickstarter. I'm surprised and disappointed to see the design hasn't changed much since then. My complaints are all about the pitcher's poor design. The flip lid is EXTREMELY difficult to clean. It develops pink mold in the crevices, and even with buying special scrub tools, I cannot reach into the hinge grooves. Then reaching UNDER the flip lid to scrub is also virtually impossible. Once taken apart, there are a lot of grooves, tubes, and tricky places to reach. This is my biggest pet peeve, not being able to clean this pitcher properly, easily, and quickly. Buildup definitely happens. Second, It's not exactly easy to hold, with weight distribution a little tricky. I could see how someone with weaker hands or a disability in the hands could have difficulty. My child is unable to pour from this pitcher but is easily able to handle other jugs/pitchers. I have tapped the glass against the sink resulting in a break, requiring a new glass pitcher. When the silicon bases came out I tried those, but mold accumulated under the glass in the silicon relatively quickly. All in all, this pitcher was too much maintenance for me. Although I would love another glass water filter, they're difficult to get one really well designed. I went onto Wirecutter and found they recommend the Brita Elite filter over LifeStraw and just purchased a tank that is much easier to maintain. Although I hate to leave LifeStraw, I'm moving onto fresh water with less maintenance. Win me back LifeStraw!

LifeStraw Home 7-Cup Glass

Amazing! We've been having problems with the water from our refrigerator filter having hard water flakes and tasting weird. After carefully reading the directions, we ran the water through this pitcher and the flakes were gone and the water tasted as it should! We love this pitcher so much!
