Not even glass like they claimed

It’s absolutely not glass. So if they’re lying about it being glass, are they lying about what the filter does too? Not NSF certified either, right?

Great product that produce great results. Takes a little longer to filter than other brands but the longer lasting filters make up for it. Great product!!!!

Amazing Pitcher!!

This glass design is MUCH better than the original plastic one which would get stress cracks. This glass pitcher is light weight and not rough on the wrist. I highly recommend this product.

Lifestraw vs Brita, no contest
on March 19, 2024

We needed a water filter - the Brita filter we have was not filtering well, it still had a taste even after filtering twice. The Lifestraw filter gives us crisp, clean and excellent tasting water. Wish we had bought this years ago.

Low quality plastic

I received a replacement pitcher under warranty after the original one cracked at the base. For whatever reason, the rim of the base (where the bottom circular piece meets the walls of the pitcher) seems to be fragile. Both the original and replacement cracked in this area within 3 months. This is also a very heavy pitcher when full, which likely contributes to this issue, though I tried to be especially gentle with the replacement. My Brita of comparable size/capacity has never had this issue. The plastic also retains water stains/hard water residue in a way that Brita does not with equally frequent use from the same water source. All in all, I really wanted to like this one because it looks so nice and I like the filter first to pour freely. However, it's just not worth the trouble for such a high-use item.

So far, so good. Some adjustments for us, but love the idea of pure water.

Quality over quantity

Love the silhouette of the decanter and the silicone base makes it sturdy and less apt to crack or break (given it's glass.) The first few glasses of water (even after running the "pre-filter cycle" as instructed, tasted horrible - but don't give up - ultimately the water was taste and odorless and quite good. I have no doubt the filter is doing a great job and the water I drink is clean! HOWEVER, the time it takes to filter a pitcher of water is unreasonable. I am a patient person, but this exceeds reasonable expectation. It's impractical and virtually useless, because I simply cannot keep a decent amount of water on hand I end up drinking and cooking with tap water 90% of the time. For this reason alone, I'm not sure I will continue to use the system. It's a shame really. I understand it takes time to properly filter water (the other brands can't possibly be purifying water properly within seconds) - but this exceeds reason.
PS Don't need to purchase a silicone base with your glass 7-cup decanter (as I did) given it already comes with one!
