Loved it but now it's leaking

Love my LifeStraw pitcher. I received it as a gift. It's stylish and worked great. I use it all the time. Unfortunately several months after I got it the bottom started leaking. There are visible cracks. Not sure how or why it happened. I never put it in the dishwasher. I only hand wash it. So disappointed.

I am confused by whether

I am confused by whether it is effective at filtering water. Home tester is giving me readings of 100-126 immediately after purchase. I double checked accuracy of tester by testing bottled water, results 00 -002. I thought original filter might be faulty, so I changed filter after a week of use. Readings unchanged. What do numbers mean, when should I be worried about what contaminants. Problem is all 7 of my cities wells are contaminated with high PFA levels.

The size and design are ideal for my limited counterspace. The assembly is easy. The filtered water tastes fresh and is rejuvenating. (I drink it at room temperature and use it for my hot tea)
