Water Failed Bacteria Test - Can't Get Filters

Tested cistern tap water for bacteria after cleaning 18 cup dispenser with bottled water and dispensing before testing. Test still showed contaminants.
Imo best to boil water which kills bacteria and not bother with filters unless you need improved taste.
Also, can't order subscription carbon filters to my address, and no option for non subscription purchase.

Directions don’t say how long to rinse the filter. After I put in the new filters funny chemical taste.

Filtered water pitcher

I like the pitcher and feel good about drinking better quality water. My small town in Texas has some issues with the water quality report. The Lifestraw web page seemes to be vague about how often you should change the filters. You know this pitcher has two. Thank you.

I love life straw! I am confident in the product they deliver. By far the best water filtration system on the market. I have well water and wish you would make a whole house filtration system! I would buy one! I highly recommend life straw!

hard water not getting filtered, flavor is less than ideal

Im noticing from drips on top of a glass case where we have our Lifestraw there is alot of hard water residue & stain.
Prior to lifestraw this is where we kept our other water jug and never saw any residue like this.
This gives me concern about how effective the system is as its pretty obvious there is still a significant amount of hard water minerals that are NOT getting filtered out. Second, the flavor of the water has not been appealing compared to spring water we were purchasing before. I realize the local water supply may not have as optimized taste as spring water and the Lifestraw filter cannot correct that, but with visible hard water after filtering I have extreme concern about whether the lead from the water pipes is getting filtered out.
Please let us know what we should learn about your product and share any further details about testing and effectiveness of hard water reduction and elimination of lead.

Great Product

I have Lifestraw water bottles - excellent- and I wanted a dispenser for my coffee and tea station for a small household so chose the 18 cup. First, the taste is perfect, I now use it for even my drinking water. The only issue I have is that in order to get to the 18-cup capacity the dispenser needs to be filled twice - and so takes a long time to refill. I don’t know why the reservoir is so small. I do not have the issue with the spout dripping, so hopefully that has been fixed. It fits perfectly on the shelf. I recommend this product, just wish it only took one fill to get to capacity.
