[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kettle is solid and well made. The inside is all stainless except for a very small piece of plastic on the lid. It heats the water to a higher temperature than my old kettle so tea comes out better. Has a five year warranty too.

Simple and effective

Stunning looking kettle but serious safety issue

Now to the serous problem. If you take the kettle off the stand when you hear the water has boiled but before the three beeps, the stand looks like it has switched off, however if you put the kettle back on the stand it starts back up at full power to boil the water. This is a dangerous thing to do if you have emptied the kettle, as it will turn on at full heat with an empty kettle! I nearly did this by mistake but fortunately had about 1-4” of water left so noticed it boiling again. I haven’t had the courage to try this with a completely empty kettle and assume that there is a safety temperature-overheat cutout but counting on a safety switch as part of normal operation is a dangerous practice - easily resolved by turning off the heating and leaving it off when the kettle is removed from the stand. ZWILLING is likely to have to issue a safety recall due to this problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the Enfinigy line
