Not only are these fantastic knives, made with high quality German steel, but this block is pretty! I love it! In addition, the self-sharpening aspect is wonderful. I don't have to worry about maintaining my edge anymore.

This block has all the knives you need to do any job in the kitchen. The blades are made from German Special Formula Steel, also forged from one piece of steel so durable for a lifetime. In addition the blades are also ice hardened so will stay sharper for a longer period of time. The handles are comfortable and lightweight, a nice option compared to other heavy handle knives. Lastly you will never have to drag you knives out to be sharpened again, the block does that for you.

What more could you want? A beautiful set of high quality kitchen cutlery? A storage unit that serves double duty as a sharpener? Extra steak knives? A great pair of Shears and the best kitchen knives you can imagine? Oh ya..... a beautiful display on your countertop!

Nice package. The old-school Zwilling German Stainless Steel with a new-school self-sharpening block. The assortment of forged knives and ergonomic handles takes care of most of my cutting needs.

Great knife set that's low maintance

I love using this knife block set because every time I take my knives out of this block, I have a knife that is as sharp as the first day I used them. I also love that there is picture of all the knives next to their slots so that everything truly has it's place.

This is a set for folks who like cooking more than maintenance; who want a selection of knives that will handle almost any recipe they find, and who like to cook with others helping. It's also the set for folks who don't want to spend a ton of money.
This is an awesome set for you! First - the selection of knives is optimal. There are four incredible straight-edge prep knives worthy of any pro. Then there are the two best serrated knives every conceived: the bread knife and serrated utility. All in a beautiful and self-sharpening block. So the knives are sharp and ready to go when the cooking mood strikes.
Combine that with the quality of one of the best lines Zwilling has ever made, and it is impossible to go wrong with this set. Although dishwasher safe, all knives perform and look better if they are hand washed. I’ve had a Four Star in my collection for decades. And it looks almost new, and it is as sharp as ever.
