[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Lenovo X1 Carbon is a truly a remarkable laptop design and performance wise...Worth every penny!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this computer! The keyboard is incredible to type on, I enjoy the touch ID to open (although sometimes it can be a bit finicky, but that is to be expected with any touch ID), and it is also super light! The only downside is the screen brightness, but that is to be expected with the nits rating, especially having come from a macbook. Overall a great machine!
I bought this laptop because I will be teaching online this semester. I can't say too much because the school started this week and I have used the laptop for only 3 days. During these 3 days, I can say that the battery is terrible. I use Zoom and even though I turn off the laptop during breaks, it doesn't last for the whole school day. I am not a technology expert but I think I made the wrong decision. I paid around 1200 dollars for a laptop that runs out of battery between 5 or 5.5 hours! What a waste of money! This is the first time I buy a laptop as expensive as this and I regret it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this Lenovo after my computer crashed and needed a quick replacement I did online research and reviewed models in a couple of brick and mortar retailers then spec'd my computer and ordered it getting is 3-4 days Laster. It has worked as all the reviews said I am very happy ( used to use the old ibm think pads and didn't think I would go back to lenovo but the carbon x1 is fantastic.
Went from Gen 4 to Gen 8. Tons of minor improvements. Keyboard still great. Materials and squared edges feel better. Webcam cover and USB-C are great adds.
Touchpad seems to perform better on my Gen and buttons above touchpad are much easier to find on Gen 4. Fingerprint reader is way too far inboard.
All minor gripes as long as this thing holds up for 3-4 years.
