[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been a longtime ThinkPad user for many years, and was thrilled to get the latest X1 Carbon. I did have one initial disappointment with this laptop when I first received it. After less than a month, my screen showed a horizontal line which lead to a cracked/leaking LCD that I had to fix at my own expense. I ended up purchasing the Accidental Damage Protection in case it happens again. Highly recommended for these thin notebooks. Also happy Lenovo gave me the option to buy it after the fact.
Now the good. Screen is incredible. I do design work and I'm amazed how the colors pop and the detail comes out nicely. Keyboard feels wonderful, and the trackpad is great (although I use a mouse normally). Speed and system are solid so far. No complaints. I'll enjoy it for the years I have it, and get a new one when the time comes.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Fast, light and everything I needed. Easy setup the only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was the shipping, took almost 2 weeks for Lenovo to ship and me receive it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Touchpad & keyboard exactly what you'd expect from a Thinkpad. Laptop is thin & lightweight yet solid construction. Only trouble areas would be the finicky fingerprint reader & the nonfunctioning Battery Charge Threshold in the Lenovo Vantage Power Settings.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great product with good build quality. Fans run very quiet and temperatures are great. Be careful with windows updates though, one of them really messed up my audio drivers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It had some problems initially. Some problems were Windows related: When I woke the system up from sleep my mic would not work and I had to restart.
Thanks to the self-repairing nature of Windows 10, these problems went away after a day or two.
It also used to have some CPU usage spikes. That went away after a CPU firmware update. Not sure if it was down to the firmware or again Windows 10 was the culprit, but that problem is not present anymore.
Right now, after a month of using the system, I find it really smooth and awesome. I cannot find any problems with it. Five stars.
