When I first enterted college I originally had an HP 360 Pavillion with an intel i3 processor. I am currently in my 3rd year of studying mechanical engieering, and with more 3D modeling and programings classes coming around the corner I knew that my HP wasnt going to cut it. I opted for the X1 carbon with the i7 10th gen processer and I love it! It handels all the programs I use with ease. Beiging a heavy usuer of things like excel, solidworks and Arduino programming I can really notice the differnce in processing power, batterly life and how quiet the X1 was compared to my HP. As someone that is practly always using a laptop day in and out I can say that this laptop will take care of all your school needs. Definetly a 10/10 laptop for anyone whos school is very computer heavy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop replaced my years old ATIV Book 7 that I refused to replace until I could find just the right laptop. This ThinkPad is the right replacement.
The size and weight are perfect and having to use an external ethernet connection is not often a nuance. The only complaint is that the touch pad cannot be disabled from the keyboard.
The 14” display is bright and crystal clear. And with the ability to use dual external monitors the laptop is now a replacement for my desktop if it goes down.
The use of the i7 Comet Lake held the price down and yet still provides more than enough processing power for my tasks. By opting for 16 GB of RAM, the lack of upgradability is not a problem and having a 1 TB NVMe drive negates the need for my external data drive.
I would recommend this laptop to friends and colleagues and would buy it again if necessary.
