[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 (14") laptop at the recommendation of a friend. It is the first Lenovo I have owned. I love how lightweight it is, and the size is perfect for travel.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very compact, great hardware, USB-C makes it easy to dock. As long as it lasts longer than 5 years I’ll stay very happy.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laptop is awesome. It is lightweight yet durable and has all of the security features you could want!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Best Laptop I've ever owned! (Had dozens of Windows and Linux notebooks, half of them Thinkpads, since the mid nineties, as well as a few Macbooks.) Despite its svelte format and low weight, it has all the ports you need, a fantastic touchpad, still the best keyboard in the market (of any current laptop), a crisp high resolution screen, and more speed than I need. Battery life is excellent, and best of all, with the pre-installed Fedora Linux your user profile won't be monetized (i.e. no tracking of your every action by 'Big Tech'). Linux applications are plentiful; productivity applications like LibreOffice are pre-installed, and there's a solution for whatever else you might need, be it web browsing, multimedia production or rendering, software development, and scientific applications. If past Thinkpad performance is any measure, this Thinkpad might serve me 10 or more years. Should fedora be discontinued or its quality drop, there will be another leading edge Linux distro ready to replace it - or the latest Windows, in the worst case. Take that Apple (and Microsoft) for that matter, with your premature device end-of-support policies.
