[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8 is spectacular. I have an earlier version which is also good but this one exceeds expectations. It is light but snappy and powerful for all normal business and daily activities. I've used and have MacBook Pros and MacBook Airs and I think this laptop competes very favorably with those options; for Windows this is the one to get.

Only downside is the battery life is a little disappointing and my device had a minor issue with the Wi-Fi controller that's still unresolved. Lenovo customer service is... not great.
