Replacement computer had motherboard and other issues with 2 weeks of use. Been repaired twice already…

After a year of remote learning and sharing a computer, we bought this for her to finish off her senior year and take off to college. It is fast and durable. We've had a yoga for a few years and loved it, but the ThinkPad has been the step up we expected. Would definitely buy for myself, but my other Lenovo is still too good to replace!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very fast, functional and durable PC. Size makes it ideal for student backpack. Mil spec grade quality and durability. Only downside not a true gaming computer but then you should be working, not gaming. Bought it for my son a senior in HS.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The X1 Carbon Gen 8 is my second Lenovo Laptop, first being an x250. And I am glad I decided to remain loyal to this brand. My new X1 Carbon Gen 8 is light-weight and very fast even though it only has 8 gb of ram and an i7 processor. The screen, which is the 2560 x 1440 IPS panel, is absolutely amazing!!

After researching the best 2020 laptops, I decided on the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 8. The reviews didn't lie. My Lenovo is exactly what I thought it would be, light weight, easy to use, great camera, and wonderful keyboard. Although I use it mainly for work, it's great for friend zoom meetings and games. If you're look for a laptop, this is the one to get!

Great workhorse laptop. Fingerprint scanner could be more responsive but mostly works. I think the location of the Fn key is a pretty bad design choice. I swapped the Fn and Control keys functionally using the Lenovo software but...the design is questionable.
