I am a retired professional chef (30+ years), so I am accustomed to working in a commercial kitchen. This range hood-fan-light combo is a workhorse, and it's beautiful. The fan is really powerful, the level is easy to adjust as needed, and we really like the 2-option light (low, high). Another real plus, it is super easy to clean. By far the best we have ever had and we highly recommend it. This product will not disappoint.

I bought this product (mine vent out ) 4 months ago. I am very satisfied with the purchase. I cook everyday and it is Asian cooking. It means lots of grease and strong smell ingredients (turmeric,cumin, onion etc). I use it in high setting, It absorbs all the grease and odor from cooking. The house feel fresh and I do not have to worry about the smell on clothes and furniture. One thing I am having problem is my gas bill. I do not know it is the product or the installation, my gas bill has doubled.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Had to replace the motor twice in less than one year. There is clearly a problem with the motor.

It is working as expected, but there are a few drawbacks: (1) It is a bit noisy; (2) The knobs for turning on the light and for adjusting the fan speed should be in different shape, so that they won't be confused easily.

The exhaust fan is durable, rugged, powerful and illuminates brilliantly once those "very difficult to install" halogen lamps are twisted into place. Those lamps are nearly impossible to install unless the hood is just unpacked from the shipping box. Trying to insert and then twist the lamps into place while being unable to look at where you're working is tough. Installation of the fan definitely requires two people too. It's quite heavy and one cannot mark the screw holes unless someone supports the fan. It would be great in you would supply a paper template to use for marking the holes. Nevertheless, it's a great fan and I would purchase it again.

Loud and lightless

I bought this a few months ago and thought it was a lot quieter than it really is. I can't hear myself think with this thing on. Also, it did not come with lights and trying to find exactly which one to buy has been fruitless. Tried calling the 800 number and was on hold for so long my grey hairs were multiplying. So far, I am not impressed. I should have just gotten a microwave with a 450 cfm and might have been happier.

OK, but still too loud and dribbles oil

I got the E6430SS to replace the stock microwave/hood combo that came with my condo. Bottom line, it is superior to a microwave/hood combo that came with my condo. It does work at venting out smoke and cooking smells efficiently. That said, there are two annoyances I have with it, which makes me want to replace this unit even though it's only 3 years old:
- Oil routinely dribbles out of the grease tray onto my range, or down the side of my cabinets. There's constantly droplets of oil hanging off the bottom of the hood that I have to wipe off with paper towels each week.
- It's loud, loud, loud, even at the lowest speed. At least it's loud and effective at venting, unlike a microwave hood combo, but I feel like other manufacturers are able to strike a better balance. The newer GE Profile / Cafe series 600cfm hoods are much quieter at normal speeds and seem to work just as well at venting, based on one I used at my brother's place (his is model #UVW93042PSS). With that one, at the lowest speed it's basically whisper quiet and you can carry on a conversation, unlike this Broan.

Best product that I ever bought

Bought a new home. Took out the over the range microwave with range fan and replace it with the Broan range hood. This is the second home that I put one of these into. Will do it again.
