The ring is just OK to me. For whatever reason it doesn't pick up people sometimes. My mailbox is on my house. Rarely does it pick him up. When someone rings my door bell it takes forever for my phone to connect to the video.

We understand you've selected Ring to keep you updated on activity around your home, and receiving notifications when your mail is delivered is essential. Please know that we are here to assist and are confident that together we can find a solution.
This doorbell uses Advanced Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. The system identifies visitors via a moving heat signature and sends a notification to your smart device when one is detected. You can adjust three preset motion zones and their distance. Additionally, you can choose how often the doorbell checks for movement in those predefined zones via the Motion Frequency setting. If you find that your doorbell is missing some motions, please set the Motion Frequency to 'Frequently'.
By using the Ring Video Doorbell 2, you should be able to connect to video within seconds, so you can see, hear, and speak to your visitors. We'd like to suggest using our free Rapid Ring app. This app is a companion to the original Ring app that allows for a faster response to notifications or enabling a Live View faster. You can use the Ring app and Rapid Ring app in conjunction with one another and don't have to worry about interference with your devices. Love it. I love that I know when someone is at my door. I love that I can talk to someone without having to open door. I feel safe. I can track packages better this way. I think it’s an awesome tool and I would highly recommended, I would buy again and we are going to look at other ring products. If you want to see what happens at your home, this thing is awesome. If you are at the store, you can still talk to someone or know when someone was there. Best product.

Sometimes there is a big delay from when someone rings the doorbell to when i get a phone notification which isn’t pleasant

The Ring Video Doorbell 2 is designed to provide you real-time notifications on your phone and tablet, when either motion is detected or someone rings the bell. We know that every second counts when connecting to live video, as this ensures you can see and speak with your visitors.
If you are experiencing delays in receiving notifications, we will want to look at the connection between your wifi router and the Ring device. The signal strength to your router is a key point for the connectivity of your Ring Doorbell 2. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi strength:
1. Physical obstructions
2. Competing wifi networks
3. Other electronics
You can check your signal strength within the Ring app in the Device Health tile. The RSSI stands for Received Signal Strength Indicator. The RSSI measurement is all the factors that are hurting your signal at the receiving point. While RSSI is measured on a scale of 0 to -99, there won't ever just be one cause that is the culprit for a low RSSI rating. The article below has some great tips for improving the wifi signal strength.

Our family loves the ring doorbell. Really easy to use and able to see when packages come when we are not home. The only con is you have to fix the sensitivity or else it will go off if a car is driving by.

I purchased this after our property was entered unlawfully. I wanted something to alert myself son if I was away as well as alert me and be able to record. We have several methods of home security such as a wired alarm system and a camera system throughout the property, but the ring has been a huge anxiety relief for me while I step away for work or when I’m expecting something, I’m able to see when it’s delivered! I highly recommend this product!

I was too impressed with the Ring doorbell and ended up returning it. I do like that you can see activity that neighbors post. But scrolling through the past footage was a pain in the neck. It's not very smooth.
