The ring is a great device, I will give it that. My only frustration is that they charge a crap ton for it but yet force you to pay for a subscription to be able to record the footage, it takes a min for the app to load live view of someone was fast enough they could definitely get away without being seen, and the camera quality isn’t as good as it could be in 2020.

Out of the box, your doorbell will keep you connected to your home in real time, no matter where you are. When using this doorbell, you should be able to rely on timely notifications and access to live view anytime day or night.
While subscribed to one of our optional Ring Protect Plans, you will be able to access videos from every ding, motion and live view event for up to 60 days (in the US). Allowing you to view them at your leisure. As beneficial as these plans are for viewing past or missed activity, they are not required to access the features mentioned above.
By using the Ring Video Doorbell 2, you should be able to connect to video within seconds, so you can see, hear, and speak to your visitors. When experiencing delays in connecting to video, we will want to look at the connection between your wifi router and the Ring device. The signal strength to your router is a key point for the connectivity of your Ring Doorbell 2. There are three main factors that can weaken your wifi strength:
1. Physical obstructions
2. Competing wifi networks
3. Other electronics
You can check your signal strength within the Ring app in the Device Health tile. The RSSI stands for Received Signal Strength Indicator. The RSSI measurement is all the factors that are hurting your signal at the receiving point. To get the most from your Ring Doorbell 2, aim for a signal of between -40 (near perfect) and -70. Reviews the ring for many years and absolutely love it I can communicate with people at my front door I can see who’s lurking around it’s really great because I have a lot of packages delivered so it lets me know when someone’s at the door for the delivery watch out for any theft ring is the best thing that’s ever come out at 11

The device is great, but the access to the community on their app is superb. I live in a metro area and it’s important for me to be connected to know about local crime. I sometimes find out about crime on ring quicker than local news!

Love the concept. Execution was was great as the video takes a very long time to load. Having instant access to the video is so important.

You can download the free Rapid Ring app at the App store (iOS - Apple) or Google Play Store (Android) and use the same email address and password that you use for your regular Ring app. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. I love that this has an app it makes it really easy to stay connected with the neighborhood. It’s nice to also see what’s going on if anybody approaches the house when nobody’s home. They are strict now with posting on the app now so unless someone commits a crime on camera or has a lost pet your post will not show up which is too bad because suspicious activity being reported could possibly prevent a crime. But having a camera that shows what’s going on at the front door is great even if the apps guidelines are a little frustrating.

This doorbell is great. It allows me to see who's at my door. It also allows me to see who came by while I was out. It also captures gun critters that come into our yard over night. This weekend we had a pair of porcupines visit, and I never would have known without our ring.

This thing has been a game changer! I have the doorbell as well as two other outdoor cameras for added home security. It records any movement throughout the day and night and it makes me feel safe in my own home. The video and audio are very high quality as well. Totally worth it!
