We have a ring doorbell camera and it definitely has been living up to our expectations. The motion censor goes off for the wind, but when someone actually comes up to the door it doesn't go off?? For being so expensive it definitely isn't my favorite product.

It is imperative that your device detect accurate motion within your monitored zones, as this ensures you are notified when someone approaches your door. You should be able to enjoy the peace of mind that the Ring Video Doorbell 2 is designed to add to your home security.
This doorbell uses Advanced Motion Detection and runs using passive infrared sensors. The motion sensors in your Ring Video Doorbell 2 are designed to detect motion up to 180° horizontally. They're also more sensitive to horizontal movement across the detection area than vertical.
If by chance you have a few stairs leading up to your front door, we would like to suggest installing a Ring Wedge Kit behind the doorbell. The kit will help achieve the proper angle, so that the doorbell detects visitors as they approach your door. This product does the job. I have this for my primary home but we can’t seem to connect it to the doorbell chime- but that’s on our end. A nice clear camera and can capture as much or as little movement as you need

Video quality is 10/10. However it takes far too long for me to connect to it when someone is at my door, despite it being 3ft away from my router. Half the time the person is gone before I can connect.

The free Rapid Ring app, developed by Ring, is a companion to the original Ring app that allows for a faster response to notifications or to enable a Live View faster. You can use the Ring app and Rapid Ring app in conjunction with one another and don't have to worry about interference with your devices. You can download the free Rapid Ring app at the App store (iOS - Apple) or Google Play Store (Android) and use the same email address and password that you use for your regular Ring app. Rapid Ring is a "light" version of the classic Ring app with most of the features stripped out except for the ability to activate a Live View and respond to an event as quickly as possible. By using the Rapid Ring app in conjunction with the original Ring app, you'll be able to answer your notifications as quickly as possible. A good overall product. Does what it is intended to do. I enjoyed being able to see what is going on at the door, though I had a few annoyances with the Ring. The main one being how fuzzy the picture is, considering the price. I truly don't know whether or not it would be useful in an emergency situation, but it's good to be able to check on whether or not someone is at the door. Just be wary of stray animals setting off the sensor.

I love my Ring system, but I wish the cameras images were just a bit more sharp. At times it’s hard to capture faces and license plate numbers. Even with it being close range it seems a little blurry. But I love the notifications and the area range it covers!
