The device was nice other than one time when the camera stopped working. I would recommend unless you have an alternative option.

We completely understand the relevance of having your device up and running, as this ensures you can access the camera to check on activity around your home anytime day or night. We’d love to provide you some tips to ensure your device is consistently connected to your network.
Although they are rare, disconnects can occur and can usually be traced back to nearby interference or underlying network issues. Both of which are easily resolved with a few changes. A common solution to most network related problems is creating a guest network. You could then pair the Ring Doorbell 2 to the guest network to ensure the device remains online. Another thing to consider is wifi interference caused by nearby objects or materials. Things such as brick, metal, or stucco can diminish the wifi signal as it travels to your doorbell. Do you happen to have your doorbell mounted on any of these surfaces?

I love the ring doorbell. I didn’t know what I was missing before I got this doorbell and downloaded the app. There are so many people in my neighborhood that have a ring and I feel that the community posts are such valuable information, I didn’t know there was so much activity!

Love the safety and convenience of having this device. I'm not happy with the battery life and how frequently it picks up our flag, even with the "human detection" activated.

Love our ring door bell! Very easy to install! Has multiple settings to choose from! You can answer your door from your phone without even opening the door! Love this! Would definitely recommend !

Love this. I use it on my front door to keep track of who is coming to the house. I plan on getting one for the back door because it works so well. It is nice that you can hardwire them to the door.

I have been using this over two years now. Since live in a townhouse, the distance and coverage area is kot the ideal for me. I get notification every time someone is walking not close to my home.

As Ring users ourselves, we know the importance of capturing only the motion events that matter most. Your Ring Video Doorbell 2 offers various setting customizations to reduce unwanted motion events and improve the accuracy of motion detection. Our team is here to help you find a solution.
If your doorbell is located in a high traffic area, try out our new Customizable Motion Zones to eliminate motion detection in areas you do not want monitored.
Customizable Motion Zones will allow you to draw different shapes that are more dynamic than Adjustable Motion Zones. You can add up to three different Motion Zones shapes.
The following steps will walk you through setting up a Customizable Motion Zone on your device:
- Tap the three lines on the top left of the screen.
- Tap Devices.
- Select your Ring Doorbell 2.
- Choose the Motion Settings menu tile.
- Then tap Advanced Settings, and select Advanced Motion Detection. Please enable this feature.
- Go back one page to Motion Settings.
- Tap Customize Motion Zones and then follow the in-app guidance to edit create your new motion zones.
Once done, you can use the Sensitivity Slider to adjust motion sensitivity from minimum to maximum sensitivity, or somewhere in between.
