Quality is sorely lacking
on September 20, 2025

The unit works fine but, the control board overlay is terrible. It's not yet 18 months old and the overlay is once again cracking and, the griddle has much of the paint coming off (and we never used it). It's a shame that you spend all this money and can't get quality products that will actually hold up. I was a GE fan for 40+ years but, I think it's time to look at the competition. Really disappointed.

We're sorry to see about the cosmetic issues with the control panel and griddle. We'd like to provide cleaning tips that can potentially help. When cleaning the control panel on your range or wall oven, we recommend that you use a solution of mild dishwashing liquid with warm water with a clean damp cloth to wipe the control panel. Rinse the area after cleaning with a clean damp cloth and buff dry. You can also use a solution of vinegar and water to clean the control panel. You can view tips for cleaning the griddle here: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=17867

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the stove, but I would love to have gotten a manual with it to let me know how to operate certain features.

The griddle diddn't last 4 months of use. It warped and cracked. The in-warranty new griddle lasted another 5 months before the coating came off. The store where purchased gave me a new Cast Iron Griddle from a different model that fits but I can't seem to season it to make it non-stick. Lastly, the front left burner control started to feel loose and wobbily. I have an appliance repair background so I decided to tackle this myself. As I was de-constructing the cooktop I found missing or loose screws throught the whole assembly. Don't waste a single dollar on this appliance

We're sorry to hear about the griddle needing to be replaced and for the left burner feeling loose. We'd like to help. We only recommend using griddles we have confirmed for this model (JXGRILL1 and WB31X49806), as we have not tested other griddles and can't comment on the effectiveness of them. For the burner, we recommend scheduling an appointment with our Bodewell service team for assistance. You can do so by calling 1-833-426-3393 or by visiting this link: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

Disappointed

We purchased what we thought was a solid midrange oven. After living with this unit for several years, all I can say is that I'm disappointed. The oven temperature seems to vary from week to week. What worked last week will now burn the same meal weeks later. The coating on the skillet has been coming off for quite some time. The touchpad overlay has been "bubbling" up since about the first year of ownership, and now the coating on that is coming off as well. I really had hoped that a GE unit would have weathered time better than this, but live and learn. The cheapie stove that came with our new home was 20 years old and held together better than the GE has.

We’d like to address any issue you’re having with your range. For the issue with the oven temperature, we have tips about what to try if food isn’t baking or broiling as expected on page 31 of the manual, which is linked here: https://products-salsify.geappliances.com/image/upload/s--mA7Xxdds--/4ebbb3cc2510861bbc091750ab931d36ed3e2e2b.pdf. Among other steps, you can adjust the oven temperature up to 35°F hotter or colder if you think that isn’t correct; that is discussed on page 12 of the manual.

If you’re not able to solve the issue with the temperature, please reach out to our Bodewell service team at 833-426-3393. They are open Monday – Friday, 8AM – 8PM ET, and an appointment can be scheduled online as well, at this link: https://www.bodewell.com/schedule-repair-service

We’ll also be reaching out over email to discuss this situation with you further. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Substandard quality for the price

The front glass exploded when we were baking at 425. The control panel delaminated and doesn't always work - we have to trip the breaker. 4 years old.
