Poor quality overlay

As seen in other reviews, the control overlay started flaking and cracking under a year of use. First it bubbled, then cracked in two of the corners. Furthermore the coating started to flake at the edges and various spots. A technician came and said this was cosmetic and not covered by the warranty and that it probably happened from cleaning. I've only used soap and water to clean the stove and this is not acceptable for an item that has had normal use within a year.
The failure of this part and the GE policy on repair has turned me off of any future GE purchases.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Like someone else who posted recently I am dissatisfied with this product because of how easily the control overlay scratches. I have only had this stove one year. I am hoping GE will provide some support.

Cosmetic damages are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty, so no replacement will be issued unless you pay for the replacement.

We love the range. Heats quickly and evenly. Looks great too. Bought a grill grate to replace the griddle and enjoy the extra burner option.

Nice range and oven. The temperature seems to be quite accurate on all of the bake, conv bake and air fry settings. I like the non-stick griddle, but think I should buy a cast iron version.
