[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have owned this range about 1 month. Baked a 12 lb, bone-in, 1/2 ham using convection feature of lower oven. The time savings was wonderful and the ham came out moist & flavorful. Using the regular baking feature in the upper & lower ovens works well too. Having the smaller oven as an option to bake smaller items is a great feature. Sometimes the range top burners are slow to ignite & I have to turn them off and try again, I plan to call Kitchenaid to see if this is normal. I have the all stainless steel model & was surprised how much it changed the look of our 15 year old kitchen. It looks very upscale now (already owned a SS frig and over the range microwave).
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I selected this range specifically because it had both a griddle and a full-extension oven rack. Each of these features has a serious flaw: the fifth burner is dead-center in the range top and when you place the griddle on the burner there is not enough clearance to use any other pans on the range. To use the griddle across two other burners you have to use a combination of either the high-speed burner with a small burner, or the simmer burner with a normal large burner. Both of these combinations is almost impossible to adjust so the flame is always unequal.
The full-extension oven rack works perfectly with light weight pans but when I try to use it with my enameled cast iron Dutch oven the weight of the pan seems to keep the rack from extending.
The knobs get very hot when the oven is used for long roasting, but that is not unique to this range.
I bake a lot, and this is probably the most evenly heating gas oven I have every had.
I love the way the top cast iron grids interlock.
The fact that resetting the timer also turns off the oven is so aggravating that I have stopped using the timer.
The range is very easy to clean and is attractive.
Pros: full grid top very stable and easy to clean, Design, excellent oven control
Cons: griddle burner placement, resetting time turns off oven, full extension oven rack does not roll smoothly

Love the double ovens, Stovetop design is not great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Delivered 11/2013. LOVE the double ovens, stovetop design is problematic. The control knob panel has already started to chip & stain from the heat of pots/pans. Shallow stove-top depth makes it nearly impossible to use 4 burners at the same time.

Caution: if you are likely to experience extended power outa

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this almost a year ago and in terms of its primary functions, it is pretty good. The ovens are accurate, the burners give good control and once you get used to the controls, they are fairly intuitive. There is only one thing I wish worked differently and would have liked to have known before we bought. Unlike the Whirlpool this replaced and most other gas Kitchenaids, this will not work in a power outage. Having lost power for several days during Irene, "Snowtober" and Super Storm Sandy (these will all mean something if you live in the northeast) for shorter periods during winter storms, I would not bought this if they mentioned this "feature" more prominently. If this could be a problem for you, do not buy. If not, or if you have a back up generator ( on my list of things to put in), go for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Converted from glass top electric to gas....finally!
Things Kitchenaid can improve:
- need more clearance between oven handle and burner knobs
- oven is hot to the touch at higher temps
Things I love:
- love love love consistent burner temps (electric was inconsistent)
- easy to clean enamel top
- interlocking large grids so they don't move around
- large oven window
- oven auto preheat 350 temp preset most common
- simple intuitive oven panel, no need to refer to the manual
- convection temp auto adjust
- rapid boil burners
- love love love 3 griddle position options (other brands you only one location choice
- sealed burners
- heavy duty metal burner knobs (other brands are plastic)
I would recommend this to a friend!
