New Gas Range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the KitchenAid Range because last year we bought a KitchenAid Refrigerator, both in stainless, and wanted to ensure the color was the same.
So far the range has worked fine with one exception.
Whan the oven is turned on the controls for the top burners get extremely hot.
I did read this in at least one of the reviews before we purchased the range but was a little dubious.
Not anymore. THEY GET HOT!
We have never experienced this condition on any range we have ever owned.
I am 77 and had a lot of different gas ranges in the past.
Just poor design!
So far the range has worked fine with one exception.

Kitchen Aid Gas Stove

After a second visit from a qualified technician from Kitchen Aid the problem was isolated and quickly repaired. We have had no further problems with the unit. Would be happy to recommend this product and any Kitchen Aid appliance to friends and family.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The control panel is very difficult to read in most any kind of light. I have the matching KitchenAid microwave with fan and lighting over the stove and even with this light on you can't read the controls because it casts a shadow.
I think you would do yourself a huge favor by back lighting each individual control button on the back panel. It would certainly look great and solve the difficulty reading problem.
Pros: Performance
Cons: difficult to read control panel
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The variety of burners, the bake/convection duo and self cleaner really make this the most functional range I've ever cooked on. It truly competes with a professional chef quality range at a fraction of the price. My only complaint is that the knobs get a bit hot when using the front power burners. Just takes some getting used to.
