Not the greatest

The first time I used this dishwasher, it broke a glass. I was very disappointed as it was part of a set. Also, does not get the dishes clean all the time no matter which detergent I use. Not real happy with this dishwasher.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

easy to load and like the top knife drawer and can leave lighter things in it that might fly around.

Performance doesn't match features

I have had this dishwasher for about 1 year. It does not clean as well as expected. For example, it will not remove Lip Balm on the rim of a glass; it must be washed by hand. If there is a ring around a pan from boiling liquid, it will not remove the ring. I have to make sure everything is rinsed well before I put it into the machine. A normal cycle takes 3 HOURS. Even the "1 hour" cycle takes 2 hours. My old GE dishwasher did a better job and got it done in 90 min. Fortunately, I live alone and can set the dishwasher to run overnight. Drip marks and fingerprints on the stainless steel exterior are hard to remove. The manual instructs only to use a damp cloth. This is impractical as it does not remove oil from fingerprints or food drips. The front looks continually dirty unless I use Barkeepers Friend on it, or Windex regularly.

Hello, thank you for your review. We are sincerely sorry your dishwasher is not operating as you would expect and truly understand your frustration. For the best wash performance, we recommend making sure the water is at least 120 degrees Fahrenheit when it enters the tub. Also, check that the filters are not clogged and the dishes are loaded properly. Selecting any additional heat settings will help both the wash and dry cycles as well as high quality detergent and rinse aid. Please let us know if you have any more questions or concerns as we are always here to help. -Chris@GEA

TL;DR: it's awesome! Go buy one!

Washes dishes better than my teenager and pre-teen would by hand. It does take longer than it would doing it by hand, but I don't have to listen to the constant nagging and whining about how "it's not fair". This dishwasher is much more compliant and way quieter than them and it never asks why it's not their turn. In all honesty I'm completely satisfied with how well it cleans, how quiet it really is and the fact that I can sanitize my dishes. I can only run a half load if needed and the delay option is nice too, that way it will start in the middle of the night if i need to. And now I have more time to fold laundry....

This the the third dishwasher I have bought in the last 20 years and is by far the best ever! Silverware comes out super clean with the third rack and casserole pans sparkle. Hope to get many many years of good performance!

Do Not Buy - Defective Design
on July 15, 2021

I had this dishwasher for less than 3 months and the control panel malfunctioned 2 days before 4th of July Holiday weekend. Could not schedule service for 2 weeks, so I called a local repair shop. He said that the heat exhaust location near the control panel causes it to get wet and eventually malfunction. Further, the panel is no longer available and there is no replacement option. The GE serviceman agreed with the local repair person, however he can get the panel. However, it is likely the panel will continue to malfunction periodically and require replacement. Right now, it is under warranty, so there is no cost to me, but at some point there will be a cost of parts and labor. I want a new dishwasher. This is a flawed design that will always have this issue.
