Not happy

Have only had the dishwasher since May of this year. Installed it first week of May it worked OK for about three weeks then it sprung a water leak and we haven't been able to use it yet. It is now July 21 and it is still not fixed. If this is how GE takes care of appliances Customer I may need too find another brand.

This dishwasher is very flimsy and will not even hold a wine glass on the top shelf. I wish I would have kept my old GE but we were updating my appliances. Things are not made like they used to be!

In order to fit larger items on the top shelf, the third rack can be removed and/or the upper rack can be adjusted by a few inches. This should allow room for taller items such as wine glasses.

CLEANS WELL

I bought my first GE dishwasher in 1971 and it's all I have ever bought - I'm now 75-years-old. While this dishwasher does the best job of cleaning of any GE dishwasher I’ve owned, I have a lot of issues with how the racks are configured and can’t load as many items as in previous models. Miss the little bit of interior space that was removed. I now often have to wash things by hand, which I rarely did in the past.
One problem with this dishwasher is the silverware basket - it's to the far side of the dishwasher from my sink (a lot of leaning over) and the second rack has to be completely closed to add silverware - also needs to be deeper, like it better in the front of the rack. Putting individual pieces of silverware in the third rack is too time consuming.
The plate section often leaves a large space open that nothing fits in very well and the space to the back of the plate section is too thin for much use. Placement of plate section eliminates the back outer section of the dishwasher for pots/pans. I've always been able to put pots/pans around 3 sides of the lower rack, can only use 2 sides in this configuration due to the plate section. There is no wide opening to stand deep boilers on their side in the entire dishwasher. I like the dishes to face the water supply. Plus laying pans over takes up a lot of rack space and normally blocks water from the second rack. Having the second rack sprayer helps with the water issue.
The "spokes" on the top basket are not handy for placing cereal bowls. I understand why it was changed to allow for the second level sprayer, which I dearly love.
Didn't think I would like the shallow, third shelf but have found it handy for wide spoons/big knives.
Love the two level sprayers - they do an incredible job of cleaning.
Not a huge fan of where the off/on button is located. Also confusing to people that the washer must be restarted when opened to put in another dish. Most folks are used to it starting again automatically when shut.
I've got a lot of experience with GE dishwashers if you ever need someone to test them. I've been told I can get more dishes in a dishwasher than most people.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Dishwasher has problems

I purchased this dishwasher recently when our old one broke. I ran it twice, and when I attempted to run it a third time, it would not work. It took 10 days for a repair person to come, and he “fixed” it, stating the door was not properly latching, causing it to stop working.I ran it last night after he left , and it worked fine. Today, I have the same problem - it does not work. I expect more from a big purchase like this.

Loved the dishwasher until the door latch broke about three weeks after it was installed. So far I am having a hard time getting a hold of warranty company to schedule a repair that I shouldn’t need on a brand new item. This has become a huge inconvenience. If I had known this was a common problem I would never have purchased this item.

The upper rack adjustment feature may be used to accommodate large and taller items as tall as 10.5". To adjust the upper rack, fully extend the upper rack and lift the front of the rack so that the rack roller wheels clear the end hooks on the front of the rails. Continue to pull the rack until the remaining rack roller wheels clear the end hook. Great features, but cheaply made

bought this in Feb 2020, by April, spinners had spun off the metal pieces and plastic under began to melt. By May the silverware basket began to crumble at the bottom. I purchased new spinners for the top and bottom and the same thing happened. By November 2022 water pump is out and has now cost us more than the orignal purchase all together
