I love this product, I've had issues with my in home power due to electricity being powered off. This happens everytime the Santa Ana winds comes knocking on my door. I've been a customer 4 years ago purchasing my 1000x station for camping and emergency power for my apartment. Now living in a house, I've had more power outages and decided to purchase this 6000x. I have 2 full sized refrigerators one in the kitchen and one in the garage. Now, I have no problems powering any of the refrigerators Plus, i still have power to plug in all the lights, fishtank, TV and internet for a good amount of time. Also, I like to use the 30' goal zero extender to mount my nomad 100 to charge either the 1000x or 6000x to trickle charge. I absolutely love goal zero products, truly is a life saver. Bye bye generator and hello power stations.
I recommend and own the following products: 1000x 6000x 30' solar extender Nomad 100 Solar lantern crush light
I WILL purchase more products and with the prices, you can't beat it!
Purchased two 6000X units to act as a stacked "battery generator" in case of a power failure. Live in Michigan and we experience a couple of multi-day outages each year. System so far has been able to satisfy heat (hydronic), food storage, and lighting needs for a 3-4 day outage.
We bought the Yeti 6000X to power our refrigerator, lights and phones when we have had power outages in CA, mainly due to the fires, but sometimes the power goes out during strong storms. The Yeti 600X has been a large stress reliever in dealing with these power outages, as it is so reliable. We highly recommend the Yeti 6000X for keeping the lights on, our refrigerator running and our phones charged!
In general, great product but reason to drop to 3 stars is the noisy power supply unit (charger) and the limitation to only charge 600W. Would love to be able to plug a fast charger during daytime like a 2.2 kW gas generator so that I have the unit recharged fast for nighttime use.

Powered our travel trailer for a 6-month trip

Our three year old Yeti6000 has powered our 30' travel trailer for 9 months on the road over the past two years. Roof-mounted solar kept us charging while on the road and when camping, I used three 255W used residential panels on the ground. That maxed out the 600 watt max input for most of the day. The unit worked flawlessly. My only concern is getting a replacement battery for it when I reach the 500 cycle point. I'm hoping GZ upgrades their battery technology to the match/beat what the competitors are saying on life cycles.
I bought this unit a 20 days ago and have been testing it everyday to try to make the smell go away. When using it in my van, the smell from the unit is so noxious that I cannot be in my van at the same time and have to put the yeti outside of my van (and worry about someone taking it).
When running it, the Yeti 6000x only has 4,880 watt-hours of capacity (not 6,000) at a 1,367 watt load. And at a 560 watt load, it only has 5,120 watt-hours of capacity. This is a significant haircut from the rated capacity of 6,000.
I like that the unit is quite portable and I can move it around and get it in and out of my van fairly easily. But I will be returning it because the smell is too bad to use it while inside of my van (main reason I wanted to get a 6000x vs. a honda 2200) and has not gone away after 20 full charge/discharge cycles.
I bought this product due to my wife wanting a generator due to weather related power issues in Texas
I hated the idea of a generator but batteries were ideal
I started off with the battery and solar panels and thoroughly charged the battery via solar for no cost
I ended up getting the extended solar cables to make the job a little easier
Next up was the box to connect to my breaker. A local electrician set it up to power two rooms (kitchen and living room) and switch over could not be easier. I showed my wife in case I was not home, and she understood
Also got a 30’ cable and lock that was bolted inside the garage
So, when an outage occurs, I have 48 hours of power for the kitchen (fridge) and living room, and I can lay out the solar on the driveway without the risk of being stolen. I can literally run the kitchen off grid indefinitely if we have sunlight
Could not be happier
Also, if my kids run into the same problem, they can borrow the unit for the duration
Thus far, I have charged it from the grid. I have not yet used it to power anything or charge it will solar panels. That said, I am confident that it will work flawlessly.
