Happy Camper!

I bought this in late March for off-grid power to my Hiker trailer & I made the right choice! Easy enough for me to lift and move if needed. Connects easily to my mounted solar panel Powering the Max fan, interior lights, recharge devices- I don’t have a fridg on it yet- but believe it will handle well. Glad I went with the 1500x instead of the 1000 for future power needs. Good investment!

120v inverter failure.

Failed 120v inverter just outside of warranty with light load and use. No servicing options. Left with a doorstop or paperweight unless I can find a use for 1500 watts of USB power. Dissatisfied is an understatement. My other units have performed ok but I cannot recommend this based on my experience.

Meets Most Expectations

The "Open Box" Yeti 1500X purchased arrived in excellent physical condition. It was packaged well and came with all accessories advertised. It has met all my expectations on portable power performance in my off-road adventure vehicle, but some technical issues exist. First - The MPPT charge controller does not allow a total rate of available solar charging at a smooth pace. When connected to my solar panel using the 8mm high input port the input wattage shuts down and spikes rhythmically from 25 W to 130W from my 170W panel. I am not expecting a full 170 W. Still, I expect it to be a continuous input of available and produced energy without the wild fluctuations and swings of input energy. Second - The Anderson input plug is not rated for the amperage advertised for charging from a vehicle or other high output charger within the Yeti1500X. The Anderson "High Power input on the face of my 1500X rated for 14-50 volts and 50 amps melted from the heat of a 20 amp 20V input and fused the connection, almost creating a fire.
Technical Support is fair. The will always point a finger back at you no matter your experience or expertise but they are prompt in their replies.
Over all I would purchase again but only as a redundant backup to a more reliable and better engineered unit..

Perfect for short-term home battery backup

The Yeti 1500X is the perfect small, silent, backup power solution. We live in Northern California where wildfire risks have increased the frequency of our power being shutoff during wildfire season and in the winter heavy rains can also cause disruptions. Going from a heavy and loud gas generator to the absolutely silent Yeti 1500X was incredible. We installed the home integration kit as well as a few Power Tanks and now we have a great backup solution that keeps the most important things with power during our frequent short outages.
The power station itself is easy to use. My youngest child quickly understood it and is able to switch our home circuits over when needed. The portability is a huge win as well as we can take it camping with us.

Dead after 3 years.

Dead and bricked after 3 years! Had some light use during 2020 and 2021 camping trips. Some use around the house for BBQs. Unfortunately after about a year with no use it just died. Unfortunately out of warranty and GZ cannot help repair or replace. Given the price tag of the 1500x, wish GZ would stand behind their product and offer a solution. GZ did offer a discount but not worth it in my opinion. Disappointed.

Well worth the money & I haven’t even used it yet.

During a recent, multiple-day power outage in NC this unit powered my buddy’s deep freezer & fridge no problem. We charged it when he had the generator running & used it at night for quiet power. I only have 2 minor dings…..
1. Sell it with the 230 watt charger standard & leave the lower wattage ones for the smaller units. That’s a looong charge time when you’re running a generator to charge it in an emergency.
2. The “combiners” don’t combine charging inputs; it just picks the highest one. If you plug the standard charging cable & a car charging cable into the combiner the two wattages don’t add together.
Those things aside (which is just me being picky) it’s stupid easy to use & performs exactly how they say it does.

I had just purchased this YETI 1 month before the famous ERCOT disaster for Texas. It saved me!! I could use a heating blanket, make tea and coffee... run a small heater for a few minutes to warm up the room...was without power in 10 degree weather for almost 3 days. Thank you!
