The cast iron helps keeps the temp on this pan very consistent, which you need for deep frying, the resting rack is helpful so that the liquid or oil drains back to the pan, leaving things nice and crisp. I also love it for stir fry but I use it more for deep frying.

This pan does it all and is one of the most used pans in my kitchen. I love the draining/warming rack that comes with the pan and use it for placing fried food on to drain a bit before transfer, warming after vegetables are stir fried and need a resting place before transfer. I have even cooked hambergers in this pan and placed on the rack with cheese and let the cheese melt up there while frying the next batch. So many uses and I can't recommend enough.

Really a Versatile Perfect Pan

The wok shape has survived for centuries because it works. This pan will really work for anyone who likes to cook and try a variety of styles. Great for braising, saute, steaming, stir frying, searing and don't forget, ideal for deep frying. The best part of these Staub cast iron pans is they look great on the table. They are perfect for one-pot cooking.
Great wedding and house warming gift.

Versatile Vessel!

Not called perfect pan for nothing! Can do just about everything. Heavy enough not to move around while stirring(which keeps heat consistent) Nice glass lid and height keeps grease/oil from sloshing everywhere

Perfect Pan a great description. Does almost anything you want to. Cleans well inside and out and holds heat incredibly well. great colour and nice glass lid

Can't get enough of this one! Sautes, braises, fries and more. Great deep blue colour. Cleans in a snap. Inside enamel is super-tough.

Not Just for Stir Fry

Yes I use this pan for stir fry and its amazing but there are so many other uses. I use it for stews, especially seafood stews. The pan has great heat capability, actually can be used up to 500F on any cooking surface. I have even pan fried a steak in it but my biggest secret is baking bread in it.
