This is a great way to get two of the most popular Staub cast iron piece for your kitchen. I have several cocottes and the 5.5 quart is definitely my most used size. It's perfect for soups, stews and chili as well as roasts. Instead of a domed lid that results in the juices falling around the perimeter of your food the signature flat lid has spikes allowing the juices to cling evenly and drip back down onto your food for a self basting effect. The matte black interior coating provides a superior browning environment and makes clean up a breeze. Staub cast iron does not need to be seasoned so you get amazing results from the first time you use it.

If I were to pick a set of Staub cookware to buy, this dark blue set would be my pick. Not only do I love the color but these pieces are the perfect sizes to begin a cast iron cookware journey.

Everything you would expect from a Staub - the innovative black matte interior will heat evenly and retain the heat throughout the cooking time. No need for seasoning- Perfect for high heat searing, frying and braising. The dimples under the lid are for continuous moisture flow. Beautiful blue color. you will want to keep this set handy for everyday use.

Staub comes in such beautiful colors. The interior black enameled surface is optimal for braising, frying, and browning. Underside of lid has continuous self-basting spikes for tender, moist, and flavorful dishes. Exceptional inside and out, it makes for a perfect oven to table presentation.

This Staub 3 piece set includes a 5.5qt Cocotte and a 10" frypan, so I can cook a soup and a grilled sandwich and have lunch or dinner combo made in a short time. Always even heat and oven safe at high temperature. Always cleans easily and food taste wonderful.

Essential Combo for Every Kitchen

Nothing beats cooking in Staub cast iron. It's enamalled on the inside which makes it release foods very nicely, browns perfectly and clean up is a piece of cake.
The fry pan and dutch oven are two essential pieces in my kitchen that I use several times a week. The dutch oven has a self basting lid which creates a little rain forrest inside and gives me incredible flavors. Perfect for not only roasts, but stews, soups, and it makes phenominal bread.
The colors are so deep and rich and since there are three layers of enamel, it is extremely chip resistant. Heirloom quality pieces.

A perfect combo of 2 most-utilized pieces from Staub at a great price! Great way to start your collection and try these pieces to get used to cooking with cast iron. The 10" fry pan with spouts for draining and the 5.5Q cocotte with lid will have you whipping meals in no time. You will love how they heat and retain the heat throughout the entire pans. The color choices are beautiful and adding other colors only adds to the beauty of a table and your kitchen. The lid provides a way for the moisture to stay locked in, as it condenses back into the food. No adding water necessary!

Nothing "blue or sad" about this set. The combo is perfect for cooking anything you can think of. Both pieces are made from cast iron and coated with a matte black finish. The benefits are no pan seasoning, easy to care for and amazing browning and searing capability. The set would be perfect to give as a wedding or house warming gift.
